To cut a very long story short i've recently bleached my hair. It's been bleached twice now. It's a little patchy at the moment. I have white roots and the rest is a mixture of yellow with oh so lovely gold ends http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v507/meep_meep/dolls_and_junk/1roots.jpg - http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v507/meep_meep/dolls_and_junk/1roots.jpg My hair actually looks green in that pic but it isn't... yet.
Basically I thought i could bleach my hair, condition it etc. and then slap some dye on. My original intention was to go to a light ash blonde, something cool to match my pale skin. I found out (thank goodness) before applying my 12/1 koleston special blonde that most ashes are green based not violet based and applying it to my hair would make it green or grey. I did a strand test and this was confirmed. Not nice at all. So now i'm currently walking around under hats trying to hide my gross hair and i'm stumped at what to do next. I DO want to go to a good hair salon and get a pro to do it but don't have the money right now, which is really frustrating.
Is there anything I can put on top? I figure i'll need to go over the gold parts again with bleach before doing anything but I really want to know if it's possible to tone it. I've been getting conflicting info. Will my hair go strange colours with every dye?
My ideal would be to end up with something like this.... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v507/meep_meep/dolls_and_junk/blonde.jpg - http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v507/meep_meep/dolls_and_junk/blonde.jpg which I KNOW i'll never be able to accomplish on my own. I just don't want to go around with neon yellow hair.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm completely stuck right now on what to do. Thanks.

don't put anything on it until you know what you are doing...you will compound your problem...take it from us who know....read some of the entries and read williams law of color...if you are still confused, i would either go to a salon or at the very least go to a cosmotology college and get it done there....these people are highly supervised and if you get the seniors it can be a good deal.

OK. Well there isn't any cosmotology colleges where I live so i'll guess i'll just have to wait until I get some money. I just hope they can do something with it as it's so uneven :(

bummer about the no beauty coll....do you have a sally's? you should read the boards on this site (if you haven't already) alot of us experience the same exact thing and you can find something that works...it is facinating to read how a home correction went really well....it can be done and fairly easily at that...read the boards...just don't put any color at all in your hair, and i know ya wanna, but what i KNOW it will just get weird from there if you don't use the right dye w/the right base. these people on these boards are a wealth of info...priceless really.
