you not supposed to comb for too long, cause combing actually lifts ya hair up, so its not the opposite of brushing, but it does undo alot of the laying down process. especially with all that water, you may have thrown off ya pattern, idk, i never combed in the shower, longest i combed was like 4 strokes per side.

try getting a rinse out conditioner, lie you would use in the shower, put that in, and brush it in. i like to do this cause you can use as much product as you want to do the job, cause its all coming out anyway, plus it gives good hold while its in so he can see where you need to brush etc

anyway, brush, durag tight (with the stuff still in) then go back in the shower and rinse ya head with the durag

get out the shower , wait till ya head and durag dry, then remove it

this is part of my shower meth that im working on right now

combing can also straighten out ur waves a bit so dont do it to much, and dont do it if u dont have waves wherever ur combing

comb after u get out of the shower when ure hair is still soaking wet, but just for a minute or two, and make sure u combing perfectly. and only comb if ure pattern is really set in good. and then brush dry for alot longer than u combed for. and don't do this everyday either.

"but this is the remix, with the cheap tricks, hittin' sweet licks, and I cut the braids off but the waves in the fade'll make you seasick!"
