The conversations here have inspired another query:

How much/often do people give you words of support in your decision to grow/have long hair?

Conversely, how much/often do people try to talk you out of growing/having long hair?

Hopefully the former outweighs the latter

hey,

First I want to complement you on your beautiful long hair, it's really nice what you have achieved!

Most people are positive when I tell them I want to grow out my hair, my boyfriend loves it shorter though and that's my greatest worry

mum took care of my hair till i was 13 years old, never had it cut and it was down to my knees.
then peer pressure started and i cut it off.
started growing it again then a lady with short blonde(bleached) hair, started saying how i would be better looking with short hair,i cut it again.now im growing it back and now that im older i dont care what anyone thinks.people can be horrid and sometimes maybe jealous!thats why im glad i found this website so when people start going on again-il have somewhere to come for support!!!
cheers!!

hey,

There also is TLHS where you can go to for support.

A very nice site where everybody is polite, supporting and friendly.

In my case, the former does outweigh the latter. But this could be because I haven't let my hair grow until now, so people are starting to see my hair in all its glory.

Hi Caro, the people on this board seem nice and friendly too, don't you think? And thank you for your nice words about my hair.

And Gizmocrystal, feel free to "lean" on us whenver you feel the need for support.

I def get support. I get much more compliments on how sexy it is when it is long and get "oh, your hair is so cute" when it is short, which is why I have decided I will not be doing that again!! I don't want to be cute.
