OK, here's what happened
I bought human hair extensions, they were a golden brown highlighted with an ashy blonde. I did not want the ashy blonde in there and just wanted an all over neutral dark blonde. So I used 6N Ion Dark Natural Blonde on the extensions and of course the blonde came up way ashy and also very dark. I used a 20 vol. developer.
So on to my hair, needed to touch up roots and revitalize my color from fading (was a dark nuetral blonde), I died it a 6G, a Dark Golden Blonde to see how it would compare to the extensions. I was worried if I used the nuetral I would end up ashy too! I ame up with a lot of golden tones and possibly looks a little red orangey. I used 10 vol.
Looks good and pretty natural really, but the extensions are much darker. So I redied the extensions with the golden blonde hoping to counteract the ash and they are still dark although the ash is better. I used 10 vol here too.
So now I am at a standstill, I want to install the extensions but want a better color match. Is there anything that you recommend? I do not mind redying my darker or vice versa. Just need to get mine darker to match the extensions or the extensions lighter.
I used to dye blonde all the time, I can do that with my eyes closed, this darker stuff is hard to get the hang of.
Any ideas?
