I am NEVER going to a hairdresser again!!!! EVER!

I went to get my hair LIGHTENED! And what did she do? She put in DARKER pieces and CLAIMED to put in BLEACH TO LIFT. She is such a LIAR!

My hair Doesn't LOOK BAD, but its something that cost me 100 bucks while she didn't do a sh*t thing I wanted!!!

What does... GET IT AS LIGHT AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN? mean to you?

Apparently it means, put in some dark blonde and tone the already color this chick has... BAH

I'm oging to do it myself from now on!

MEH!

How frustrating!  I cannot believe this.  Well, yes I can.  I'm pretty sure what she did will fade.  Just start bleaching your roots and toning them yourself.  Do you have a friend who can help you?  I would if I was closer to you.  Good luck!

thats ridiculous! hair dressers do what they want.
I've had a my hair turn lavender, broken off, turned bluish grey, these stylist claiming to be experts on toning! bull crap! and their all scissors happy, i've asked for a trim, and my hair goes from my underwear line, to as short as my bra strap goes! 2x this happened, this is why i dont get hair cuts anymore. and not to mention they want to charge me about $150 everytime just to put bleach on the dark part of my hair, roots, its not rocket science! u just have to watch out not to over lap the bleach and not to leave it in too long.
They say the more often you get it done it will cost less, for roots, no, they charge you the same everytime even if you see them every month or 2x a month.

man bambilee, what a deal....you had your hair sooo light.....how did they make you pay for that???  were you too freaked to freak out a little?  i have had some of the worst haircuts that you would not believe....and the one time i went to a pro over color that would have faded in 3 shampoos but instead of telling me that she puts bleach on my hair and damaged it.....i was ignorant.  so sorry this happened to you but i bet rebwil is right....you should call the owner or manager or something.  that is wrong to pay for the opposite of what you asked for....what did she say?  anything????

I'm TOO NICE for my own good. the girl was totally crabby and apparently was having a piss ass bad day! I mean what she did wasn't horrible or bad or anything, it just wasn't what I wanted. I'll post a pic of it.
It's nice... but she didn't change it much... I'm going to go buy Manic Panic Flash Lightning and see what that does. I can't get toner so I use purple shampoo. I could just go get it toned at the salon. I'm going to look into the local salon here, in my small town. Maybe I can discuss what i want with them before I make an appointment and see what I can muster.

I really think some hairdressers should invest in LISTENING instead of JUDGING women who come to them. It's rude.

Bambilee, I'm sorry this happened to you but if I might say....the color is gorgeous!!!!  Still, that doesn't excuse the fact that your stylist didn't listen to you.

I'm pissed at my stylist (who I've been going to for years!) for different reasons.  I went in for a certain cut, which I had a picture of, and left with hair up to my chin.  Too bad I learned a little too late that short hair doesn't suit me at all.  Now I'm forced to wear it back every single day until it grows in.  Great...I paid 100 dollars to wear my hair back everyday.  My husband is not amused, I might add.

I think I'm done with salons and stylists.

you know what bambilee?  you are really hard to ugly up.....i too think that color is REALLY PRETTY....but if you don't care for it and i know you were going for cartoon that you are dissapointed and angry.  i don't know what to say.  it is just a bad feeling, i can feel your frustration in your msg.  i am telling you though, it is Very pretty.  NOT what i was expecting, thank goodness....i have had some messed up hair before.  you take care and tell us what you do next.

Awe thank you lovetocolor! Very sweet. Yeah it looks good. I mean it's not like I'm walking around with ugly hair. But it just wasn't what I was going for.
I can't buy toner because here in my province you have to be a hairdresser to buy such prodcuts. I could probably order it offline.
I just use purple shampoo, works good. I'll just wear the 100 dollars out of this color for now! ;)

Cutting is the WORST! At least with a color you can change it. CUTTING you have to wait till it grows! I'm so sorry. I had that disaster too, letting my g.f cut my long hair... she practically gave me a mullet, taht's why I went thsi short. Anywhoo. It'll grow out faster than you think... ;)

Good luck. I'm sure I'll go back to a hairdresser AGAIN... but I really am done for a while. ;)

wow longhairdreams....you shaved your head??  your hair grew fast.  what did you have?  a mess on your hands from having fun w/your hair??  artistic expression (which i am now going to call my coloring obsession) can be hard on one's hair.  your hair looks very healthy now.

I secretly think they don't want to do all over color, cuz they charge more for highlights.  Bigger tab? bigger tip!   Wink

ugh, i'm a hairdresser, and you just have to ask around till you find one who will do what you want!!  ask ask ask...if someone wants all over, i give it to em cause that's what they want...i actually prefer all over with a few highlights in front for added dimension...cost is actually cheaper for this at my salon.  i agree with you that most hairdressers do do what they want, mainly cause they are lazy or are in a hurry and will do whatever is easiest or fastest...also, they maybe fresh out of school...i know i was less flexible 10 years ago than i am now...and i now know that you should give the customers what they want....

what the heck is flash lightning?  lemme know

i personally could care less about tips because it ups my pay wich ups my taxes...i would actually appreciate a coke or a sandwich instead of cash(which usually dissapears from my wallet in a matter of mins...how does that happen?  hehehe)

cheers, a

I agree with txs girl, I too always give my client what she asks for, but if its all over bleaching and their hair was badly damaged I would advice them against this, and depending on the level of lift they want and the depth and tones they already have I would use hi-lift colour.

Most hairdressers hate using bleach because of the damage it does to the hair, and I will confess I hate using it.

Bambilee I love your colour, I dont know why the stylist didnt do what you asked, maybe she was having a lazy day, but thats no excuse, you paid your hard earned cash, so you should have asked for them to give you what you asked for, but this time free.

Bambilee,

You're gorgeous; you're hair's gorgeous -- even if it's not what you want! haha Like that other woman said, it's pretty hard to ugly you up. lol I'm sorry you got screwed though -- believe me, I KNOW how that goes. I've been there. I have practically beaten it into every hairdresser I've even gone to -- make it AS LIGHT AS POSSIBLE -- yet they just don't get it. :(
