Hi everyone!
I have been coloring my hair since I was 15(many years ago) and have never had an allergic reaction to any hair product. I had to start using Rogaine for hair loss and since then, haircoloring has been a nightmare. Even the most natural of products makes my scalp itch. I simply CANNOT stop coloring my hair so I was wondering if anyone knows of a remedy to stop allergic reactions prior to haircoloring. BTW, a patch test was useless because I was not allergic to the product on my arm, only on my head. Any advice will be appreciated.
First time on this site-I`m in hair heaven!!

I read an article once that said that one in a thousand women are allergic to hair color, so you are a special person, Carrie. ;)

When you say that "even the most natural of products" gives you trouble, do you include henna? I know some people that are allergic to hair color but have been able to use henna without any reactions at all.

Maybe the Rogaine is making your scalp sencitive. Try not using it a few days before coloring.
