Ok since my last post on here my sister and i decide to  make our own extensions ( lots of fun to do!!) We went to  our local  hair store to pick out our colors and  what not . we get home and i find that i accidently grabed a red looking color instead of a brown!!Shocked
now i  am wondering how i can go about fixing this? the place of course has a no return or exchange policy on open packages an dummy me waited til i got home  in the dimness of my kitchen to see it had red in it stepped out side and bam! lots of rednissOuch

these clip ons on used for special outings only so they wouldn't be daily worn
is  there a way to tone the red down so i can  put a semi brown on it?
any suggestions i know there is very inventive ppl out there? i am a pro at frying my own hairWink but hate to waste$$ buy frying pre dyed extetnions

i know it's werid how it takes on two differnt colors if moved  its the same piece??Confused dunno the top pic best shows the color

hi, you may want to post this over in hair color too. There are color removers that may work but if it was colored before you colored it I think it would remove that color also.

I want to be clear:  Did you color the extensions, or purchase the wrong color extensions?

Either way, I would not recommend a color remover for extension hair.  You could try coloring over the extensions with a neutral brown color and a 10v developer or, use a color toning shampoo.  I'm not sure which brand of hair you purchased, so it's hard to say how it will stand up to coloring.  Perhaps a semi permanent color would be your best bet.  Especially since they are clip ins and not used on a daily basis.  That is probably what I would do.  I have had good luck with Casting on my own hair, or you could go back to the beauty store you got the hair from and go thru thier selection of semi permanent colors.

Hope that helps!!

lol i am a regular over on the color board, i didnt know if anyone had any particular advice pertaining to extensions.

yes i bought the wrong color and yes i was going to use a semi since i can already imagine that the hair is processed beyond the norm.
i wasn't sure if the brown would be enough to over power that red color as i have tried it to my own hair before and come out with strong red undertones

You may end up with a red hue to it, but it should be subtle.  Go with a neutral brown.  It should either say 'neutral' or be a .0 I think, like 4.0 is a neutral medium brown.  Well, I should clarify, permanent colors are like this, not sure about semis.

The red hue shouldn't be too bad.  The neutral will help offset the red, and since you won't be washing them all the time, the color won't fade as quickly as if it were your natural hair.  Good luck and let us know how the turn out!!

Oh no! that is a huge difference in color compared to your natural.

I got some extension hair that was too orange (strawberry) for me.  I used a demi on it. The extension hair was 'light strawberry'. I decided on a medium neutral blonde, and it came out a bit darker (which was fine) but the orange is gone.
I think test out between a light to medium neutral brown demi, and it should work. Any deeper than a medium, it will darken the shade outcome...your natural hair looks like a light brown to me.
