I was cruising the web looking for snoods (my daughter has a 40`s style dress she is going to wear to her prom and we thought this would complete the look) and found this web site: http://www.hairthings.com/ - http://www.hairthings.com/ Some very nice snoods here :) but some of the prices are a bit high :( Still....worth a look. I always like looking at new hair toys. |

I love the look of 40`s hair.I work in the film industry and the 40`s is the most fun to do for me. A lot of times I make my own things. You can pick up some hairnets for a dollar each and dress them up with rinestones. I see some people wearing snoods now,it`s mostly the hip hop crowd. I love the look on them too. Pearl Harbor seems to have some good 40s hair, I haven`t seen the movie but I want to and I`ve seen pictures. But in old photographs from the era, I rarely see snoods, though there was at least one in PH. Plus, PH seems to have taken some of the BEST examples of 40s hair - styles I see in pictures often don`t seem as good. ------------- |

We found an entire book of 40`s hairstyles at Amazon.com by Daniela Turudich. The reviews and the sample pages on it looked very interesting. It has diagrams instead of pictures (I usually do better with pictures) but it seems to have what we are looking for. It has chapters on Formal Styles & Up-Dos, Accessories (including snoods), and a Where To Find Beauty Supplies appendix. I don`t have it yet - it just shipped - but when I get it, I`ll let you know what I think of it. At $12.76, I won`t get badly burned. :) ------------- |
