Hi,
Some of us has light brown blondish hair or dark blond hair or had blond hair as children and they got darker with age or we has blond sun kissed hair in the summer and dull hair in the winter. What suits our needs are very subtle and gradual highlight products which don't ruin the hair, don't change the color too drastically and give a very natural 1-2 shades lighter effect like children hair or sun-kissed hair.

Many products of these kind, Sun-In and Schultz for example, just make the hair brassy and even plain orange. But there are also very good products that really give gradual and natural-looking highlights.

The best products known were: "John Frieda Sun Streaks Gel" and  "Got2b So Blonde"

Sun Streaks was even used by children and young kids who wanted lighter hair or natural highlights, as the ones they had at the beach, the rest of the year.

Unfortunately both the products have been discontinued without an evident reason since they worked great and had a great success.
Not only but the two brands are not producing any highlitening products anymore.

I hope people here know about these two products, their efficacy and their being discontinued and can point out to valid highlight spray/gel alternatives that don't make the hair orange as Sun-In does.

Thanks!

I noticed that not only all "subtle hightlights" products have been discontinued (Touch of Sun, Be Blonde, Sun Streaks, Beach Blonde) but also most if not all highlightening kits have disappeared from the net.

Someone here must know about highlitening alternatives ... I can't believe there are no highlights products and kits anymore on the market!

I do recall using the JF Sun Streaks gel.  I haven't had to use it in quite awhile, and sad to hear it's discontinued, it was a great item!! But orange inducing sun-in is still selling??? It makes no sense.
I just looked at ebay, and you can tell how much the sun streaks is loved.....some bids are at $40!!!Shocked
I have a tube left of the beach blonde gold rush shimmer gel (love it) so I'm going to really savor the rest of it, as I hadn't realized that it was discontinued!

There are still plenty of highlighting kits in the stores here in the US. Do you not see them anymore in stores in Switzerland?  Or do you just mean the kind like the sun streaks/sun-in that can be used with a hair dryer?
