hey I was wondering if there is some way one could curl really short hair without getting a perm. I have tried using a 3/4 instant heat curling iron which has a brush attachment. I apparently don't know how to use it right, or it simply is not effective on such short hair. I have thick wavy type of hair so it's not like my hair is super straight.

I'd like to have my hair look like a shorter version of how Mario Lopez wore his hair in saved by the bell as A.C. Slater.. but without the super long hair in the back of course.

Here's a pic of the hair style

Here's a picture of me so u can see my hair type and texture.. plus u can see the typical length i keep it at

Though it doesn't look like it would take long to groom myself to get my hair like that.. it actually takes a lot of effort and time for me to get my hair to have that look believe it or not.

Anyways I'm thinking of buying curlers and keeping them in my hair for a bit of time before styling. However I wouldn't know how long i should keep them in my hair or what type of curlers to put in my hair and how many to put in. Any suggestions and advice on how to use curlers.. or any suggestions/tips on products that can help create a curly look would greatly be appreciated. Thanks Guys :)

Theres certainly nothing wrong with today's perms. They can be soft and so many men will testify to their fun and enjoyment.  Too, curlers just cant be beat.  Any type of heat like a curling iron is bad on shorter hair.  Rollers are much better for the hair and again, many men will testify to this fact.  A salon can set your hair or if you have the expirence, doing it at home. It will  be something you wont want to give up once you start.
