Hi, do you use a tangle preventing conditioner, and if so, does it also strenghten your hair? What brand? Do you detangle your hair every day or just once a week? And do you trim your hair?

I don't use a tangle-preventing conditioner, but I do use Herbal Essences Detangling Spray whenever I see fit.  It does its job of detangling, but if you overuse it your hair gets crunchy.  Also, I trim my split ends once a month and I get a formal trim every six months or so (usually about an inch).

I just shampoo and condition using a mask every 2-3 days (i have quite an oily scalp). I only comb my hair after washing it, no brushing at all. I dont blow dry my hair so i dont have many split ends, probably get a trim once every 3-6 months :)

No tangle-preventing conditioner for me, either.  I make sure my hair is combed out before I wash it, with no tangles, then just wash and condition.  Every once in a while I have to use a detangling spray, like Katja, but I try not to very often.

I never use a de-tangling spray. For the most part, they have way to many silicones in them for me. I have heard that the ones for kids don't have any, but I haven't tried any.
I comb out before I do any washing, and right after. I also comb quite a bit through the day, and put it in a braid at night to prevent morning tangles. I use oils after I wash ( wheather shampoo, or no-poo) as a leave-in, and they help a ton with any sort of would be tangles. But I normally do not have very many tangles, as long as I use a good conditioner.

I use a leave in conditioner, but i comb my hair out with conditioner in it in the shower seems to help, But i also use a detangling spray a kid version no silicones thats right and its not bad at all i dont use it to often the leave in conditioner usually does enough for me, but sometimes a little extra shine a detangle spray works nicely. Also using good pre oil treatments helps a lot. I use Lama's Beauty shampoo and conditioners, a kids detanlging spray, and Giovanni leave in conditioner. Great combo!

Hey there Dude,

I only wash twice a week, but when I do, I use a detangling conditioner (some refer to this as a conditioner with "slip"). I only use a small amount (about pea sized), and I mostly use it on the last two thirds of my hair. I'm currently using Giovanni Smooth As Silk Conditioner. It is exactly how the name describes - smooth as silk. And for me (with somewhat fine hair), the detangling effect lasts until the next wash.
