Welcome 2 Da Wave World

This is a guide meant 2 help all wavers and non wavers understand and achieve 360 waves. It's a guide composed of theories from myself and others that r supported by facts and good info. Remember everything that works for 1 waver may not work 4 all.

I'll start out with some basic terms and methods.

H20 meth: This is wettin your hair and then brushin it until it’s dry. It works because u can manage your hair easier when it’s soft and water keeps your hair soft until it dries out.

Wolf: Wolfin is growin your hair out past the length that u would normally let it grow while continuing 2 brush your hair the same as u would if it were lower 2 deepen and define your wave pattern.

Shower brushin: This is basically doin the h20 meth in the shower only u keep your hair wetter 4 a longer time because of the time u spend in the shower. Its good 2 shampoo and use conditioner in the shower 2. That way u can get things out of the way quicker.

Wave break length: This is the point in which your waves start 2 reverse and curl while wolfin. If u don’t cut your hair b4 or right after u reach this length u can suffer a major loss in progress. (TSOH )

Grain: The direction which your hair grows in. Forward, backwards, etc.

ATG: ATG stands for "Against the grain" going in the opposite direction that your hair grows.


360 Waves take a lot of hard work, time, and dedication. If u don’t have all three of those, u can pretty much give up on achieving perfect 360 waves.

Keep in mind that a wave is nothin more than a straightened out curl. If your hair curls at some point, its possible 2 get waves. It may take longer 4 some people 2 achieve waves, but it can b done.

The size of your waves depends on your hair texture. The nappier(curlier) the hair the smaller your waves will b. The straighter the hair the bigger the waves will be. A lot of people ask this question "How do I space my waves out more". The answer is.....u cant. Yup you're stuck wit what u got. U may find that your hair spaced out jus a little bit after the first few months, but this is only because your hair wasnt fully trained, and yo final wave pattern wasn't set in yet. U can’t change hair texture. Unless u use a hair texturizer kit and that’s a big no no. Texturizer kits r only temporary. Even with a kit, u have 2 brush. The kit only makes your hair easier 2 handle so it takes less brushing. The kit only changes the texture of the hair on top of your head at that time. That means whenever u get a haircut or your hair grows out far, you're back 2 square 1. U might think "oh well, I’ll just do it again", but constant use of a texturizer kit can cause serious damage. Mainly hair loss. U don’t wanna start seein bald spots after a few months do u? How about going bald within a few years? Can u imagine bein bald at the age of 18? Then u won’t even be able 2 get waves anymore because you're bald. Take my advice and stay away from Texturizer kits people. There are no easy ways 2 get waves. Don’t believe the hype about some magical product that gives u instant waves in 5 minutes, because they're lying. Just stay on your grind and wait it out. You'll b a lot happier with the results.



Brushes

Brushes are the most important part of gettin waves. Without a brush you Cannot achieve waves.


In order 2 achieve perfect 360s u have 2 have more than 1 brush. U have 2 have 3 (2 at the least) in order 2 work out flaws.

1. Soft brush(softy): A softy is used mainly 2 straighten out waves and 2 help achieve connection. A softy helps 2 straighten and connect waves a lot faster when your hair is short.

2. Medium brush: The medium is......u guessed it. The brush that’s harder than a soft brush, but softer than a hard brush.

3. Hard brush: The hard brush has harder and firmer bristles than any other brush. It brings waves faster. Tho it brings waves faster it doesn’t get u perfect 360s. The brush brings the waves, but they wont b straight or they wont connect with the use of only a hard brush

It would take a longer time 2 get waves usin a softy than it would usin a hard brush. The hard brush gets u waves faster because the pull on your hair is greater than it is while usin a softy or a medium. Thus straightening out the curl more so it works faster.


Some people’s scalps are more sensitive than others. With this bein said, DO NOT continue 2 use a brush that causes pain or irritation. It could cause damage 2 your scalp and could knock u out of the wave game 4 a while. Don’t force yourself 2 use a hard brush because you want the waves faster. Take your time, be patient. You’ll get there when u get there.


Warning: If u have a really straight hair texture, the only brush u should b usin is a softy. Maybe a medium when it gets really, really long. Remember a Wave = a Straightened curl. Your hair is already straight u don’t wanna make it straighter. It has 2 curl so use a softy. It takes longer but you'll be very satisfied with the results u see over time.


Wear a durag whenever you aren’t brushing. This helps 2 train your hair in the early stages of wavin and it can also postpone loss of progress due 2 lack of brushing later in the stages of wavin. DO NOT attempt 2 stop brushin until your waves are trained and deep enough 2 b able 2 handle the lack of brushing without losing major progress. Brush as much as u can. It works.


360 Brushing pattern


U should always brush from the center of your crown(the area in the middle of your head that separates the different sides of your head) starting with the top, then work your way around the rest of your head. Brush the top from the crown towards the front hairline. Then brush the back from the crown 2 the back hairline. Next brush both sides at an angle going down towards your temple. make sure u make smooth transactions 2 each side while brushing. That way it eliminates some further problems with connection in the future.

The right side

A lot of wavers have problems with their right side. I used 2 be one of them. There are a lot of rumors spreading around about why the right side is so hard 2 wave up 4 most people. Like " Its because most people sleep on their right side" or "It’s because I’m right handed a I brush my right side 2 hard". Well here's a theory that sounds right 2 me(From wave connection. I added my own facts and situations). The right side is harder 2 wave up because the pattern of your crown spins out clockwise throughout your whole head. If u follow the clockwise motion starting from the back of your head(where the crown starts its spin) you'll c how the 360 pattern is formed. Everything fits perfectly into place until u get 2..............the right side. U notice that instead of continuing with the spiral of the crown(backwards and slightly downward) that the 360 pattern requires the right side 2 go in another direction(forward and slightly downward). The problem is, it takes time 2 train your hair 2 grow in another direction from which it's been growing all of your life. this is what prolongs the waving of the right side. It'll take some time before you train your right side 2 grow in the right direction, but once its trained, you'll finally be able to get that right side waved up.




Products

The key 2 a healthy scalp and healthy hair is a good moisturizer.
Here’s a list of a few good moisturizers.

Pink lotion


Carrot creme: Try Walgreens 2 find the Carrot Creme+Carrot Cholesterol combo.


Olive creme: Try Walgreens 2 find the Olive creme+Olive cholesterol combo

Motions hair lotion:

I prefer Carrot cream(CC) overall because it leaves my hair soft, moisturized and manageable all day. Plus it gives a good hold. Motions works pretty good 2, but it works nowhere near as good as CC does 4 me. Pink lotion doesn't work 4 me, but it works 4 various people. Remember what works 4 someone else doesn’t mean that it will work 4 u. Try things out and see what works best with your hair.


Quick tip on moisturizers. U want 2 get the moisturizer 2 cover your whole head so u don’t have any dry spots. Moisturizers spread much easier when u brush it in with a softy. In fact, all products should be brushed in with a softy after applying it 2 your head. The soft brush pushes the product thru your hair. Unlike a hard brush which pulls it and flings the product all over your room.


Other products:

There are lots of other products that help people recognize your wave game. Like Indian hemp, doo gro, etc... The list could go n 4ever. Try out different one's and c which of the many products works best 4 U. But remember "Products r accessories 2 waves. Brushing is the outfit. Would U walk out da crib naked wit a fitted and a watch?"


Onto pomades. They do not give u waves. They're used 2 help hold down your hair while you’re wolfin and to give them a more defined look. It may help newbs 2 da wave game train their hair(minimal) bcuz of the holding but its nothing without a brush and it can b very hard 2 wash out depending on the pomade. A good substitute for pomade is Lets Jam Orange Top. It has a good hold and it conditions your hair, plus it gives it a good shine.

It depends on your hair texture.  But, generally the H2O method is highly recommended for most wavers.

Yo...reminder on Wave Laws

1. NEVER BREAK YOUR WAVE PATTERN *#1 IS THE MOST IMPORTANT TO MAINTAING WAVES*
that includes washing, brushing. Tell your barber to cut with the grain of your hair.

2. ALWAYS USE A MOISTURIZER
after washing hair apply pink lotion while hair is wet in direction of wave pattern.

3. BRUSH THE MOISTURIZER IN THE HAIR
after applying pink lotion brush dat sh!t into the hair so that it can properly moisturize the scalp.

4. THEN USE A POMADE
apply whatever pomade u want and brush for 15-20 mins. (LONGER ;P DEN 15-20MIN.... BRUSH LONGER.)

5. USE A SMALL AMOUNT OF POMADE

never pile your hair up with an massive amount of pomade. Use about an heresy kiss size of pomade on your finger.


6. USE ONLY A MEDIUM BRUSH OR A HARD BRUSH OR A SOFT BRUSH
