man.....went to sally's to get bleach for my teenage boy. i bought this kalidescope bleach that was for yellow tones...he already is blonde and it said it would lift 4 levels....ON THE THIRD TRY i used 30 v that of course burnt and itched (he's ok now) ....still could not hardly get the orange out....so being a VERY GOOD CUSTOMER (at the very least 1,200.00 a year just on myself) i bring customers in to pick out the colors i am going to put on their hair...anyhoo, i spent 12.00 on that kalidescope crap, i took it back to see if i could exchange the bad bleach for the loreal as this stuff didn't do as it said it would do. she said in this voice, "We are not allowed to do that anymore and since you used it you will have to purchase something else if you want something else" the last time i went in to sally's to check on what my color was compared to a swatch, the same woman followed me around like i was going to shoplift. i just feel really offended. any feedback? i go in there ALOT! i am angry and offended.

Unfortunatly, because you opened the bleach and used it they would not give you a refund. I understand you are a good customer with them, but they have to abid by company policies.
Almost all bleach will leave a yellow tinge in the hair, also depending on any previous colour that is on the hair, as you said your son has blonde hair a high lift colour would have done, however any yellow/brassy tones can be lifted by a blue toner.

thanks karen.....i think what bothered me the most was her response....i didn't know their policy. her and i do not have a good vibe anyway...have since calmed down....i was able to get my son's hair to where he wanted it....i put on some loreal oreal blanc and came out really nice...thanks about the blue toner info....ya that would neutralize the orange, but luckily in about 7 minutes it went where he wanted it. thanks for the reply.

I absolutly won't go to sally's for anything anymore and have'nt for over a year due to the way they treat thier customers .I also felt stalked when going into the store and made to feel stupid when i asked a question . most of my friends and aqaintiaces feel the same way some still go despite of it and the rest have found elsewhere to take our business. In my opinion they are very snooty and unprofessional .There have been countless times i have inquired about a product and they could'nt just outright give me an answer instead just told me i needed something else that was more expensive that i really did'nt need in the first place. Then they get irritated it seems when i won't buy what they wanted me to (because i know i don't need it )and walk off in a huff. They make you afraid to ask for help and when they offer help its bullcrap.

oh yes, the evasive answer...i know it well....like pulling teeth to get info....but this woman is just something else....she knows where products are at but doesn't know what they do or how they work.....i was told by another worker that she is good with the books. i went shopping at the pro shop w/a friend and bought up in there and haven't had to go to sally's for awhile, before that i was in there like 3 times a week to look around and buy stuff...product junkie that i am....thanks for telling me your experience....and you said it, i felt stalked and uncomfortable....i was trying to read the back of color zap and she was like making it clear that she was watching me.....they have terrible shoplifting in that store, so i hear but she is looking in the wrong direction....i am going to tell the manager.

I agree, I'm not surprised they didn't want to take back a product you used, but that employee shouldn't treat people that way, and I'd call her higher ups and let them know. When I worked in a mall store I worked with someone who did that to people. Sure, if your store gets shoplifted in a lot, you want to keep a better eye on people, but you have to learn not to offend them and do in it a not-so-obvious way, or they just go somewhere else. The store could put up more mirrors or something.

that is the thing...they have like one person in there alot but this woman and i (no matter how nice i am to her) don't get along...but that following me around and all that was just ridiculous.....i've been going in there too long for this bs....i think next time i go in...i would go to another store but they are far away from me, and if she is in there acting rude i am going to ask her "what's your problem w/me?" my heart always drops a bit when i see that i went in on her shift.....i need to look at their schedule ....thanks for the feed back, i appriciate it.

Hi again lovetocolor,
I agree with you and the other posts about the way staff in sallys have made you feel uncomfortable in their stores, this is a disgrace. You should be able to walk into any store and be made to feel welcomed no matter what you buy. We have many Sally's stores in the UK, I come from scotland and the sally's store I buy from the staff are friendly and helpful at all times. May be just this one person has an attitude problem. It may be worth will either confronting her or as Susan W said report her.
No one should be made to feel unwelcomed any where. Right I will get off my soap box now lol

thank you karen....i have always dreampt of living in either scotland or england.....anyway you are right about people feeling comfortable....i understand about the shoplifting thing, it's terrible, but they need more employees in there than 1 at a time....also the rest of the people in there are very nice. i really like the manager....i feel sorry for this rude lady but acting like she did the other day (saturday, when i went to see what level my roots were and then walked out without buying sometihng, for once.) but now with the insulting way she behaved i am going to say something to the mgr...i feel like a chicken sh*$ for telling on someone, this has been going on for awhile and now her attitude is out and out rude....again, thanks for the feed back. i do feel sorry for her though, she looks like she is very unhappy........oy vey.
