Hey everyone. I don't dye my hair but I'm wondering if anyone knows of a product that can lessen the orangey color that occurs from oxidation in non dyed hair? My hair is a medium ash brown, about 18" long and gets lighter/warmer in color farther towards the ends (from the sun). I'm trying to match my hair with a human hair piece (long story) and am concerned that it will be too noticeable that my own hair gets lighter while the hairpiece hair is all solid. I really don't want to dye my own hair. I've heard of shampoos that correct red tones.. are they only for dyed hair or could I use something like that on my own hair to reduce the oxidation? Are these shampoos harsh and damaging to hair like hair dye? |

there is this stuff called shimmer lights to keep hair from yellowing be it from age or whatever...it is not damaging....it is purple colored which keeps the warmth away....bambilee on this board uses it to tone her almost white blonde hair. have heard alot of good things about the shampoos that keep the warmth away...good luck!! ------------- happy coloring |

Thanks for the suggestion  . Does anyone know for sure if Shimmer Lights shampoo is for uncolored hair as well as colored?

it works on uncolored hair as well....when people have hair that has turned naturally white they recommend using this shampoo to keep it from yellowing. my mom uses it and her hair is beautiful snow white w/no yellow whatsoever. ------------- happy coloring |

hmm, looks like its only for light hair?
