Since Anna is not playing tennis anymore is it time for her to lose the locks? I want to know what you think.

Yes, should have been long before now. I would cut it up to mid-shoulder blades for her.

What does playing tennis have to do with it? Did she need long hair to play???

I agree with Tex. Seems like inverted logic.

She's still playing on the ATP Doubles circuit; watched her the other night on TTC (the Tennis Channel)

Haven't we been talking about this off and on since 2000? Imagine the woman without the long hair. Would she look as attractive? In my opinion, no way. Her face needs her hair.
The people who like long hair will agree with me. The ones that don't will disagree. What's the point?

You're missing the point. Her looks don't matter; it's can she play tennis without long hair or would having long hair some how hinder a life away from tennis???

I think she is not a celebrity anymore and we should talk about her in the Long Hair board until hell freezes over and she gets a haircut!

I think:
If she is still playing tennis - keep it long
If she is not playing tennis - cut it short
If she is only playing doubles - go mid-length

Should?
I don't understand this possessiveness towards her hair.
If you want to say you don't like it, you think it would look better shorter, that's fine 'cause it's your opinion. But do you realize how pathetic it sounds when you decide for her what she should do with it?
This is not stated in defense of the subject of this thread, but in general about all celebrities discussed within this forum. I see quite a lot of "should's" casually thrown around.

I would say Anna is still a celebrity. Everyone knows who she is and the paparazzi still follow her around.

Just accidentally noticed in the web. Modern, sexy and... better. Pity that it's a fake.

You have an excellent point Dave. Both those on the "Long" side and the "Short" side are guiilty of this. How often do we see a "She should never cut her hair" or "what celebrities should cut their hair", not like it is a prefrence, or the celebrity's choice.
Yes, I have a prefrence, but I don't tell my wife how to wear her hair. She knows what I like, but after all, it is her hair. We seem to miss that point quite often.

Fake or not, the pic Tommy posted looks pretty good. She could work a short style.

I agree - couldn't believe she could do short hair but she could.

I think Kournikova could look good with short hair, I just hope she doesn't try it. Her hair is probably my favorite.

What a load of crap. If she wants to keep her hair long then it's up to her. Personally I think she suits her hair long and it's a very positive asset to her. I've never played tennis in my life lol, maybe I should shave my head. Seriously what a stupid question !

That "short" image looks nice, but those cuts usually lay flat without styling in reality. She'd be foolish to cut her hair, IMO, b/c there is a mystique about her which a chopping would torpedo. I don't believe that she has plans to cut anyway. Why mess with perfection, and those millions pouring into her empire yearly? Blessings, Bob

What a shocker.
Bob does not want a girl to cut her hair, never heard that before, lol.

Why disrespect Bob for sharing his opinion? Like myself and several others, Bob has never made a secret of his passion for long hair. Anna Kournikova has built an enormous fan base, mainly due to her long hair. Sarcasm aimed toward those of us that are part of that fan base is unacceptable. Just because we admire long hair doesn't mean our opinion counts less.

But Kramer, I thought that was the purpose of this board... short hair vs long hair lovers. That's what most of the discussion seems to degenerate to. (SNL fans of yester year rember, "Jane, you ignorant slut..." It's not about opinions on if a certain style works for a celeb or not. It's all about who's gonna win... who's gonna one-up the other... remember long vs short! Kind of like pirates and ninjas.

I think the purpose of the board is to make interesting and relevant comments about the hairstyles of celebrities--be they long or short. We (those of us who post on this board) don't always see eye to eye about what is good or bad, but most long term posters are clearly sincere in their preferences.

I think you are right that "most" long-term members contribute to healthy discussion with occasional tongue-in-cheek jibes that come from familiarity with each other. I also think you are correct when you say most have sincere "preferences." It doesn't take newbie’s long to pick-up on what those preferences tend to be.
I personally don't mind the occasional thread that pokes fun or even turns into the same old long/short banter. I can always stop reading a particular thread when I get tired if it.
I don't really mean to offend when I, on occasion, kick in a sarcastic comment or two.

Thanks Kramer, but I'm fine with Ken's remark. If Ken noticed, I believe that I said that Marina McBride's short cut looked "hot", and today I was all about Charlize's old crop. Granted, I prefer both long, but I truly enjoyed the cuts on both women.
THIS may stun you Ken. I actually rate the short styles of Jenny McCarthy, Patricia Arquette, skater Jayne Torville and Patricia Heaton *higher* than their longer 'dos. And, the same for several women I know personally. So, to me, it *is* about the individual.
Re Anna, though, I can't for the life of me imagine why anyone would hope that she cuts those startling blonde locks. Bob

To bring this back to the original topic, why would Anna cut her hair if she's not playing tennis anymore. I could understand cutting your hair if you're about to play tennis because you don't want it in the way. But I don't understand why she would cut her hair just because she's not playing tennis.

I think she just wanted to know why would she have to cut it now that she isn't playing any more.

I think the long hair suits her. It's healthy and shiny so I don't see any reason cut it. Maybe shorten it to her mid-back but my vote would not be for anything shorter. She's still young and vibrant so why not keep the long hair as long as possible!
