It's suppose to keep out oil and moisture. Does it really extend the hold of the glue?

Wow.  This is a good question.  I have never used the sealer but I am sure some of the LG experts on here would know the answer.

Ya know, its one of those things some people swear by it and say it absolutely helps to seal and lengthen the longetivity of their LG bonds. Other people say they see absolutely no difference at all. I think it does help somewhat but it isnt a miracle for me! LG bonds hold a very long time in my hair anyway, so its not something I feel I need to use.

Thanks Sherrie, you always help me out! I'm so gonna get some LG now... I've been using the rubbery stuff from sallys... its held up pretty well this last install I think Im going on 2 or 3 weeks which is like a miracle for me with this crap hahaha. I've heard the remover is a must though, is this true?

I dont like the remover....but again some people love it! I like to use plain old professional acetone for most takedowns. Some people really like the LG remover. And if you do use the LG remover, follow the instructions and use heat (I think it says to place a hot curling iron on the bond after you apply the remover) This seems to really work well.
 
I always suggest having a couple of types of remover on hand, in case one isnt working for you, you have something else to use. Everyones experiences vary with differerent products. So what works great for me, might not work at all for another!

I will agree with Sherrie on both counts.
I did not find that the LG sealant did anything spectacular or really noticeable. I had the same hold with it than without. I think as long as the area where you will bond is clean and free of oils- which can be done with a good clarifying shampoo and blowdry just prior to installation, then all is fine.

And ditto on the LG remover- I hate that stuff, personally. I don't think it works at all. I also HATE the smell.  I get much better results and a much less offensive smell with either the citrus removers or SuperSolv.

I like the LG remover. It works for me, just keep rubbing and let it sit. It might not take 5 minutes but be paitent and it work. The smell is a little eh after awhile but I mean acetone on HAIR? Yikes! That's just not for me, I'd be scared but amen to the ladies who do it!

I used Proclaim rubbery glue from sallys a few times , i just got in the shower and soaked my head in conditioner for a little while and they slid out .. really i dont like the rubbery glue AT ALL it feels so bulky on my head .

Does the acetone damage your hair? I Goo Gone better? My hair was So dry after the goo gone this last time, it was almost impoosible to comb about for my next install....

I don't think a little acetone will hurt your hair unless for soak you head in it for hours on end.  Like alcohol, it evaporates very fast, so the damage is minimized.
