Hi all... I done an install of bohyme silky straight around 11 days ago, I used supertape and lg... after around 5 days I noticed the ends were coming loose and had to touch up with lg... I eventually removed the lot today,as they had all moved, up to 2cm from where I installed them, or were coming out!! I only washed my hair 3 times during this time and was careful about products on the tapes, etc! Anyone have any suggestions? I had an lg install in previous to the tapes, I had them in for a week no problems but removed as I damaged the hair :( . Could it be something I've done, or tape just not for me? My scalp is a bit sore, as some of the lg was hard to get out this time.. I'm really hesitant to reinstall incase the same thing happens after a week-my poor natural hair!!! I'm considering using my wefts as clip ins, but not sure whether to give up yet... sorry for the long rambling post!!! Thanks in advance!!

Hmm... I'm not very familiar about this type of install, but I do know that before extensions are applied that the wearer should wash their hair and skip the conditioner. They say the adhesive, or whatever they use, will not adhere due to the oil and silkiness from the conditioner. Did you skip your conditioner?

Did you apply heat to the tapes on the wefts before you placed them on your hair? I hold mine in the flat iron for a few seconds and then work the other end of the  comb over them on a flat surface to make sure they are good and stuck on the weft. Then I blast with the hair dryer for a few seconds and press down after they are installed.
Hope this helps and good luck!

I didn't use conditioner prior to install. I used my blow drier with the lg, but not with the tapes so much... I found the tapes really hard to install!! So sticky!!

Hey Julia, great advice!
Sorry to hear you're having trouble with the install Anjelinah. Have you
checked some of the tutorials? Perhaps there's a step that might make a difference in longevity? I know it's good to poo your hair with a clarifying poo and no conditioner. Also, it's good to avoid washing your hair after you do the install, a day or two? And of course keep conditioner away from the glue.

I never tried tapes but I have done liquid gold. It didn't last very long on my hair either. I'm not careful about where I put the conditioner. That's why I like the sew-ins.

Sew ins will stay a lot longer than tape. You also dont really need to be that careful with them. Just basic care.

I think eveyone is different. I can get 8-10 weeks out of a tape/LG combo install. Some people dont get that long out of a sew in. I think whatever the method, there is always some tweaking. When you find a method you are comfortable with and it works for you, then you find the little tips and tweaks to make it last longer.
