Does anyone have any idea how to do this micropoint method? http://www.micropointlink.com/

I am very much in need of something to fill in some thinning hair on top and this looks like one of the few extension methods that can do that.  It looks like they somehow tie hair to your own hair in a way that its not detectable even when exposed to view (unlike other extension methods where you need a certain amt of your own hair to cover the bond), and that is the important part to me.

However I've heard this stuff is extremely expensive, and while I don't have much experience with doing extensions I'm not afraid of DIY and would love to be able to do something like this on my own.

Anyone know how its done????

I am in the process  of getting approved for a territory by the company who puts out the Micro Point method, which is the only hair extension that can be put on the top of the head.  They sent me samples, and basically it's 4 hairs (cyberhair, not human hair) that is tied onto one of  your single growing hairs.   Charlene in NY does it and she says it really does stay put until that individual hair falls out.

The company that offers this method, International Hairgoods, will not sell to anyone who is not approved for a territory and who meets quarterly sales quotas.   You must be licensed and send them copies of your cosmetology license,  business license, fill out a lengthy application , and submit pictures of your salon before they will consider you for a territory.

I am having trouble myself getting approved since I rent a room in someone else's salon and I don't own it myself.  They want the salon's license, and my salon owners don't want to get involved, since I'm an independent contractor, they don't want any liability for what I do.  Anyway, we will see if they approve me, I do have my own individual business license and of course a cosmo license.

If you want the process done, you'll have to go to a certified salon.  And yes, I think it's a pricey service.

Anyone know a ballpark figure as to how much it would cost to upkeep a micropoint system per year?

I was interested in this method as well before I went with the Russian hair and a sew in. I went to a salon for a consult and they "tied" one of the little hairs on me. It came out right away but it was just a little sample they were doing so I wouldn’t go by that. I’m sure it’s a great option for balding area on women or men and they would be doing many of them to fill in those areas.

The other part of it is the MicroPoint Accents which is more like a traditional extension method using a "bead" that the cyberhair is slipped through along with your hair to form the bond. You can do both together if say you have an area of thinning that requires something up near the hair line or face area and then just the accents up under your hair for length and volume. The cyber hair felt wonderful also and is lighter than human hair.
