Hello. I'm signed up here to find out many things about long hair. I don't cut my hair or trim it at all (religious reasons) and I've been looking for a place to ask questions about caring for it. I don't use heat on my hair such as blow drying or curling or straightening etc because I don't want to damage it. I just had a pregnancy that although it made my hair grow quickly, also caused it damage. I hope to find out what I need to find out. I hope that maybe I can help someone else out too with their questions.

Try oiling your hair. If you can't trim the splits off at all, it may be the best way to allow you to comb through it easier, and also prevent more damage. Be careful about silicone containing shampoos and conditioners also. They can build up on hair and cause it to break off after many months. These will have to be clarified off with a clarifying shampoo once every 2 months or so if you want to use them (which you may, your hair must be very long and may be split, so it would help smooth out any splits and make them easier to handle). I hope you will visit the long hair care forum here, you can find many tips on such things. Good luck.
