I am really worried. I have straight long thick waist length hair. I want it cut but want to pretty much keep the length.

I was thinking.......four layers, shortest at my shoulder, and two more layers after that. Does this sound good? How do i explain it to the hairdresser?

I keep my hair tied up in a low ponytail a lot so would this still look good if i layered?

Please help and any suggestions would be apprecaited as im worried yet want to proceed with this look.

All comments welcomed, thanks in advance.

You really should just go ahead with the cut if you`re so inclined....I know you`ve been agonizing over it for awhile, but if you don`t get some kind of cut you`ll spend the rest of your life wondering what a different style would be like. Just tell your stylist exactly what you posted here--it`s easy enough to understand.

I got my waist length hair cut just below by bra strap and layered. The layers are starting just below my shoulders and i have about 2 layers done.

When i came home, i relaised the lady cut it slanted! Horrified, i went back and she did it right and evened it. I love it!

Thanks for all the help, also im surprised that it doesnt appear finer, just as thick as before. It is not at all fine from the ends even.

I suggest if u want to keep length but want a different style when leaving hair out without doing anythjing to it, get it layered BUT BUT BUT make sure u know how much is being cut off. Mine was cut more than i asked, but i still love it, but BE CAREFUL bring a picture.
