          | I was just curious what ingredient does ammonium lauryl or laureth sulfate contain that makes it so bad for your hair, as opposed to sodium lauryl/laureth sulfate?

          | There is a debate about how safe these ingredients are. Some people have allergic reactions to them and the results are anything from rashes to hair loss.
For more information, read the following:

Everything I read about them says they are generally safe and most people can tolerate them quite well. However, if you are one of the few that has an allergic reaction to them, there are fine products on the market that do not contain these chemicals.

A word of caution: I have seen some web sites that resort to scare tactics to sell their products. Be cautious in accepting these health claims at face value. Do your own research and decide for yourself.

 Happy reading! ;)

          | Thr dryness issue comes from the harshness of the chemical. Some people (and everybody`s hair is different) find that ammonium laureth sulfate is a bit harsh and dries their hair out. Generally, sodium laureth sulfate is milder and some shampoos do away with sodium sulfate based detergents altogether.
If you want to try a natural hair care product, I suggest Aubrey Organics. Their products are 100% natural works well for most people. Check them out at:

I have also had very good results with the Nature`s Gate products sold on this web site. Check them out in the Marketplace.
