Hi everyone I was thinking of trying to determine between dying my hair black or dark brown but i`m not sure which one would better suit my complexion and eyes? Can someone please help me choose? My eyes are dark brown, and have a warm skin complexion similar to mariah carey`s my cheeks also have a slight pinkish tone to them thanks for helping

I think it would be pretty dark brown. It depends on the effect you want. The darker the hair...the paler you will look. Black is very dramatic, but of course makes a person look pale unless their skin is rather dark. From what you described, I would go for the dark brown. It`s dramatic as well, and very flattering....

From experience I can say go for the dark brown first, black is hell to get out, then if you want it darker use a really temporary color like manic panic that will wash out over time.
whatever you do, if you do go black, don`t use l`oreal feria starry night (it won`t come out without severley damaging you hair) and it really builds up!
I`m considering going dark brown again, what color are you thinking of?

I can`t decide between dark brown or black mephcat but the thing is a long time ago I had my naturally dark brown hair dyed blonde and over time I got sick of it went to a salon to go back to my roots, this happened last summer. I`m still in the process of having all the old dyed hair grow out which is a medium reddish brown compared to the new natural hair at the top of my head which is very dark brown . I don`t want to cut my hair since it`s long (the middle of my back) so I`ve been using semipermanent dyes (clairol natural instincts in dark brown) to get the reddish brown color to match the top of my head; the color slightly darkened it, but eventually it goes back to not matching the top of my head so I don`t know what color to use; I dont want to use permanent dye since it`s more harsh than semi permanent should I just use a black semipermanent.

Hello, Yes! Do not do black...it is almost impossible to get it out. I love the look but have had too many problems. I had all colors in my hair (caused by highlights, bleaching) etc. About a month in a half ago I tried to do something different so I took the bottom portion of my hair and bleached it. I thought it would look pretty cool and no one told me anything at work. Finally, at a family party, my cousins were like `what did you do to your hair`? Then another cousin said he also wanted to ask me about it but didn`t want me to get mad. I just laughed cause it was funny! I went home and dyed my whole hair again. I dyed it a brown-black color. It is from Revlon (Colorsilk). I absolutely LOVE the results. So now I have a color between brown and black (which I love both).

Hi Rita, This is Prune.
The color is called Brown Black or Black Brown. If I remember correctly it is Brown Black.
It is the Revlon Colorsilk brand. I have had it for a week and it still looks good. I have tried other brands before and it does not last long.
Good luck!
