Hello everyone, I'm trying to stretch out my relaxer and I've been flat ironing it to keep the straightness.  Usually after I shampoo and condition my hair I will put oliver oil in it while it is still wet and blow dry.  I love the results when I do that.  However I heard that olive oil isn't good for flat ironing. So my question is will it be okay to continue with putting olive oil in my hair after I condition it and blow dry...but before I flat iron it put a heat protector in it??  Suggestions please Smile

Maybe you should try using a heat protectant before you blow dry as well. Either way it is still heat.

It really is trial and error

Its true. Olive Oil is not good for flat ironing your hair. But if your are using it as a drying aid and then following up with a heat protectant before you flat iron that is fine. Just keep in mind all that product is going to make your hair really heavy and limp so you will probably have to wash more often
