tiffany twists? fusion or glue?

Tiffany Twist
is a fusion method. It's wax based like parrafin with some color and
some type of adhesive added. If you go to The land of the Lost Threads
section here on HB you'll find a lot of info on the system. Because
they're wax, they melt easily with heat ie hair dryers, heating
elements etc. I personally don't know of any other extension system
that is as complicated or requires as much precision and restrictive
care as Tiffany Twists. I think it could be fine for a...

I have heard a lot about tiffany twists
and went and checked out their website. Are they just another type of
fusion method? Is it similar to GL or Socap? How safe are they? Are the
hairlocs better? I was curious as I have been doing GL for a while and
wanted to try something new but wanted it to look and feel natural as
possible.

New Install and Various Reviews

OK ladies...this will be a looooong post: So on Friday I came home from work early and went to work on my hair...
I
dyed the extensions again with a mocha color and a 10 developer. Then I
dyed my own hair...Unfortunately the extensions turned out the desired
color while my hair just turned out darker, except at the
roots...Probablly because I have so many different dyes in my hair
though... Anyhow once I was done with the whole dying project I moved
on to the extensions...I sewed 2 seperate wefts... forum_posts.asp?TID=56844&KW=tiffany+twist&PID=441940#441940">

Well the good news is: I got my Tiffany Twist
and I got my hair dye. So I am hoping to have my install done by next
week????? No promises though...I am thinking that since it DID hold so
well that I will only do the very bottom and the very top and sides
with TT and then I will do 2 double wefted rows of the Vapon-tape with
the LG.....we'll see if I will be eating my words in 6-8 weeks.... Wow
girl, that's quite an install you're planning. You are a true DIYE'er.

Oh no Mila. I'm so sorry that happened. That's so stressful!!!
What tape did you use? I know acetone works well on LG but in my
experience, LG is a mess. I hate those boogers and it didn't hold that
well for me.
Good luck with the Tiffany Twist. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. (well, not literally)

OH LORD let the hell begin. So Sunday I just could not take this
install anymore...most of the wefts had minimal hair because of the
crazy shedding...and this FR was ready to be exterminated! I ran out of
Goo Gone and decided to slather conditioner all over my hair and take
them out that way...well that was stupid of me... The tape that I used
was complete and total CRAP! I mean let me put it this way...combined
with the LG it had the best hold ever...HOWEVER...it was like cement in

next DIY "test" install. I am in the first stages of putting together
the next install for when Brigid comes back from Australia the first

Also, in reference to the Tiffany Twist
product. I agree, she has been very supportive of everyone trying it. I
think it's great that she uses her own product! It does take some
practice at getting the right amount of bond. I've dipped a strand too
deep, tapped it too much/too little on the pot's rim. But most
importantly, with my go at it, was getting the extension strand lined
up good with my hair, then pinching a little at the top, a little at
the bottom. Hold it taut between... forum_posts.asp?TID=55086&KW=tiffany+twist&PID=416764#416764">

nope, no rulesat all, we've discussed some wild stuff here. The Tiffany Twists discussions were fun, those girls put that system to it's paces and Tiffany

Hey Diva. We asked pooks just about every question imaginable about the TT. Tiffany
even came on and answered many of our questions herself. And then
platnium asked for updates and we asked pooks even more questions.
MileHigh, I completely misunderstood her question. I assumed that when
she asked, "I just saw an advertisment for Tiffany Twist.
Has anyone ever tried it and if so, what did u think?" That she hadn't
read the 4 pages of discussion we had on it already that may answer... forum_posts.asp?TID=55086&KW=tiffany+twist&PID=416687#416687">

Hey Sourgirl.. It still wouldn't hurt to check out the other Tffany Twist threads.. (I think that this is what MsHoney was trying to say this ) searched for " tiffany"
and got three pages of results.. I took the liberty of posting the
first page.. HTH.. Overall there's been some good reviews posted.. If I
was into DIY and wanted to try fusion (or something similar) for the
first time, this would be the way I would go.. Good luck.. Search

UPDATE: I think I did get a bad batch of the Dlux. I had ordered a
clearance weft (price is right for a friend that just wants to try out
extensions for fun and let me practice the Tiffany Twist

silky! Huge difference from the batch I installed on my head. But then
again, we'll see how it goes the first week or two of her washing the
weft. Even tho I have a new pack of the 18/22 leftover that feels
silky, I'm still... forum_posts.asp?TID=54714&KW=tiffany+twist&PID=416373#416373">

doesn't look like it's really been discussed at HB for over a month. At

doing that at all. Quite a few members at DIYE are using Tiffany Twist, and have alot of free discussion on it and plenty of info. PM...

I had purchased the Dlux back when it was only 25% off. There has been
alot more postive than negative regarding the hair's quality. I wasn't
concerned with any shedding issue, as I was using the Tiffany Twist.
I've used the8A/14b, 18/22, and some 613 for highlights. Iinstalled it
last friday. After the first shampoo/cond (using Pureology) I realized
I didn't care for the 613...the strands were too light for a match to
