I think we should get more involved in this forum , most people in this forum are all for hair growth and I thought  maybe we should do a Bun your hair challenge. Wink

Basically, it doesn't have to only be bunning but you should protects your ends until Christmas. Guidelines would be:
-No heat styling
-No combing / low manipulation
-Moisturise ends daily
-No cutting hair(light dusting o.k.)
-Relax hair if it's a must

Those are the basic rules and if you have questions and comments just post them and everyone that is doing the challenge will be able to help (at least I hopeinnocent.

By Christmas  December 25, 2007 you can release you hair of it's binds and get your hair did!mrsrabbit

This site has been going slow lately.

I'm not sure but I think alot of people are doing protective styles such as buns in the hair and health challenge...it ends January 1.  Are you in that one too?

No currently I'm not on any challenges on this site. I just wrote this post because everyone seems to be on their own world, there's not much interaction. Even if there on another challenge there's still may be newbies that want to join in and feel like they're apart of something.

I just decided to do a bun challenge for myself 2 weeks back because I dont want to trim my ends. Than I decided that I'd make a challenge out of it.

I guess I'll wait until Jan. 01, who knows.
Thanks for posting cmesweet.

Kathy I know what you mean about this forum. It was alive, but lately I am not too sure.
Quite frequently i wear my twists/braids and sometimes loose hair in a bun. So I guess I can be part of this challenge as well.

Thanx blackhoney112 and cmesweet I think this will be a good experience. One thing I noticed when I bun is that I miss touching my hair, I think I just need to get used to that because I dont want to cause breakage.
With the bun challenge how often do you think one should deep condition their hair? I hear alot of people retaining lengths through constant deep conditioning treatments.

I was co-rinsing everyday and deep conditioning 1-2 days a week and I definetly noticed the change in texture it was really moisturized....I decided that I wanted a different look so I have been blowdrying and flat ironing the a few inches in the front and back so that i don't flat iron the whole head...I figure if I am going to use heat I have to make it last 2 weeks so I haven't been deep conditioning like i would like too. I think at least 1x a week is good.

Well, since it's  winter I'll be washing my hair once every 2 weeks. So on wash day is when I plan on conditioning my hair.

Michigan winters are very drying...as soon as i walk out of the house, my skin turns white.Confused
