OK, so I am going to keep in my microrings until they start to fall out. I figure I can treat them like I would normal hair and let you guys know how much abuse they can take. Can't hurt since they are already in and paid for right?
Anyway, next (probably after christmas) I want to try pro-tac or something of that type. But I was watching a tutorial and they showed how to section the hair and how to put the strips onto the hair and how to attach it to your head. Then it showed letting down a row of hair to cover the tape. But that part of the tape is sticky correct? so the hair would stick to the tape. But ALL of the tape wouldn't be covered, not totally. So wouldn't it get gummy and stick to other hair? and be a big matted mess? I must be missing something????

I personally think that using protac on wefts with that method that you described does get a bit gummy, especially after the glue starts to break down.
I found that by week 3 the glue got gummy for me and made my head itch so unbelievable bad I had to take them out. I tried it again, and pretty much had the same experience. My scalp just seems to be sensitive to that type of tape adhesive.
Now that said, LOTS of girls here use that protac method and love it. It is really easy and gives a nice look. If I were you, I'd give it a try at least once, you don't know until you try!

| Is there another way to do it? Like somehow only having the sticky part on one side? I know you fold the tape over the weft, but it there a way to make the part that is not against the head not be sticky? |

| I have used protac for a year and love it but know what u r talking about.....Sherrie from HE101 has supertape and that doesn't gum up like the protac :) |

Yes, the typical way of installing the tape is to 'sandwich' it in between two layers of your hair. So the tape would be on both sides of the weft. When the tutorials say to let down hair over the tape, you then press that layer of hair to the tape, so the tape would be covered, top and bottom.
You can also install the tapes on just one side of the weft, the side that goes against your head. But you wont get near as long of a hold doing it this way.

ok, thank you for the helps guys, espically sherrie. Yeah I knew you would stick the hair to the top of the tape, but I didn't figure that it would be totally covered. I thought there might be gaps. I don't know how to explain what I mean. I don't know I just thought witht he width of the tape it qwould be a big mess at the hairline, trying to wash it and such. I dunno I think I am going crazy lol |

If using protac/airflex I dont use the full size strip. They are 1 & 1/2 inch wide, its too much tape for me. If using protac/airflex strips I cut it in half and use half of the strip. You can also purchase it in rolls which are 3/4 inch wide, perfect size for me.
