Subject: Question about Hair Color

I have been getting my hair colored at a salon. My hairdresser has been using Goldwell Demipermanent color. The problem is that while it covers most of the gray it does not cover all of it and it comes out so quick. I get it done every 6 weeks, but by that time the gray is really bothering me. She had said that sitting under heat after applying the color should make it last longer and that we could try that next and if that didn't work than to go to permanent color. I have very long hair and don't want to damage it to much. My question is will heat really help the demipermanent color to cover better or am I better off getting the permanent color. I am really getting sick of having the gray show after washing my hair a few times. Also how often do most people color their hair.

Thanks

Goldwell's demi permanent is a translucent colorline, that stays about 4 to 6 weeks tops, heat does sometimes help the color to stay in, but since it's a translucent colorline to begin with, it won't help much, what your stylists could do it use a different demi that is made to cover gray hair like Matrix Color Sync line, or Compagnia Del Colore line, even the Clairol Second Natural will cover better.
Your stylists can also use a lower level on you to darken the result up so it looks like better coverage.
Please give your stylists my toll free number as I have a website for licensed Cosmetologists called AskMags.com & have her call me.

Thank you for your reply. My hairdresser told me that the Goldwell Colorance plus Demi permanent color was good at covering Gray. I didn't realize other color lines demi color were better. What is the best demi for gray coverage? I am thinking that I will have to get the permanent color if this continues. I hate being unhappy with the result.
