Hi I currently have satin strand weft hair, with clips i sewed on.
I am planning to start pre tipping but I want something more permanent in the mean time.
So I thought I could just sew some micro ring things on the weft then put them in my hair...

Here are my questions...

How many micro rings should I sew on each track?
How far apart should they be?
What size should I buy?
Should I put them in so the weft is on the outside or inside..if that makes sense...

And how much of my hair should I put in the ring? (since there wont be any extensions hair in it..)

Any advice and tips would be great!

 Hi summer.
You can place the rings as far apart as you feel necessary but I would suggest no more than an 1/2 in apart. Any size will be fine it depends on how much hair you want in it. You want to make sure that you have about the same amount you would pull through the ring if your were going to have extension hair added to it.
What you want to do is have a good weight distribution throughout the entire length of the weft. You want to make sure that your hair doesn't feel as though it's being "pulled".

Thanks for the tips!
I'll also try to make sure the weft doesnt pull at my hair O_O

I find it easier to just clip the weft to my hair then pull thru some extension hair and mine as I go to attach - faster than sewing on micro links.

Id say one link every 1-2 inches depending on your personal preferance

I also found this. Its appears to be a pre-fabbed Micro link weft. It looks like it might be easier although this company is European I gather as the prices are in pounds.

but i spent like an hour sewing the rings on.
but i was succesful :D it took a while to get my hair in the rings and such but i've had the hair is for 2 days now and all seems to be going well

Cool! Those pre-made ones, though convenient are a little more expensive so it’s always better to learn yourself for certain. I was thinking of trying this ring method next install. Do they stay put pretty well? Even through showers?

Yeah, i've showered with them twice and theyre fine, but I have to use cold water since its satin strands hair.
And I braid it at night so i doesnt tangle.
But yeah it all stays in, it was kind frusterating putting them in though

Yeah I can imagine. Trying to do any kind of install on yourself must be a challenge! I also do two braids at night and no tangling at all, plus it gives it a nice wave/crimp look if you dont brush it. Im a big fan of the braids lol

haha yeah, i always have wavy hair at school since i'm too lazy to straighten xD

Yeah. I like the crimpy look so much I was wondering if they sell extension hair that has that look permanately like it looks like you just unbraided it. That would be sort of cool. But its easy enough just to braid, mist it with water, put some kind of sticky product or hair spray, sleep on it and walla! Then you can always have it straight and sleek when needed. It keeps it from tangling to sleep on it like that.

Well I've seen extensions that are wavyish permanently but not really crimped, oh well lol.
It's funny, since I wear glasses, at night I look like a right dork with braids haha :D
