I am seeing mine on Friday to get my hair "dusted" and I am really afraid of her. She tends to not want to do what I want to do and seems to cut a bit more off then I intend every time I go. How does 1/4 inch turn into 1 1/2?
Well, perhaps "psycho" is a but of an over-statement, but the woman is a little sissor-happy. Anway, to the point of this: do any of the people who cut and/or style your hair seem to take off more than you asked for and/or rip out hair with their brushes? Owch! It seems mine tends to yank, and it is so hard that my head jerks a little way up even if I am forcing it down! How do I tell her to be gentle? I know it`s weird but I really am afraid of her.

Mine seems to be the same way. She doesn`t cut like... more than I ask... but she does yank my hair sometimes... or comb it way to fast. She doesn`t start from the bottom up. Which makes me mad that she kinda yanks it.. but I don`t know how to tell her that.

Since your acctually saying that you`re "afraid" of this lady makes me think that maybe you should find a different stylist. Since she is cutting off more than you want anyway, you aren`t taking that much of a bigger risk going to a different place, just ask your friends who have nice hair, where they get their hair cut and if they`ve had any problems with them.
As for the yanking hair out thing, I had a stylist like that once(I think maybe they get distracted or something)but if you go ow! or something, then you might sortof scare them into being more careful, without the guilt of going,"QUIT RIPPING OUT MY HAIR!!!"
