Hey,

Have any of you heard of this book? I just got mine in the mail from Amazon.com. It's a collection of at home hair color recipes from a women who did color for celebrities. It's not too technical and there are only a few hair colors to choose from in a particular shade (a few brunettes, a few blondes, a few redheads). The good thing is that her recipes are specific to your current har color (assuming you have virgin hair). This is the problem I find with at-home hair dye boxes is that the color on the box is not what you get because you are starting with a different hair color than the model (among other reasons). It doesn't seem to be helpful for those who have already colored their hair though. It doesn't talk about pretein fillers or hair dye chemistry but it may be fun to try a recipe. I'm going to do a strand test and check out her milk chocolate recipe.

I've never heard of that book, but it does sound interesting.  Regarding the  at-home hair dye boxes, the color of the actual picture has been redone, if you can believe that.  I actually found one model, same picture, but on two different shade boxes.   I think one was ash and one was gold...the colors were slightly different, lol.  Amazing what is done today to "fool" you!  Talk about a pig in a poke!
