I just recently had my hair dyed brown over a really light blonde hair... my hair dresser left it on for a longer time because we wanted to make sure it would cover all of my blonde and evenly, removing the the orange and basically "cleaning the slate." starting fresh.
Now, I want to be blonde again, how long do I have to wait before I can go in and get highlights?
Its been since Oct. 22 that I had my brown dyed...its also a semi-permanent, and its faded a lot, but still dark.

Before you get highlights,you should buy something called METALEX by clairol.(beauty supply stores sell it)
It is a semi hair dye remover and it is oil based so it doesnt really damage your hair.
It will remove the brown color and you should be left with the underlying blonde pigment.
 You may have to refresh your blonde color after using it though.
 
 
Or,as long as your hair feels healthy and not too dry,you could just get highlights.As long as your stylist says it's ok,you dont have to wait.
