This is a common problem with people with waves. It has something to do with the texture on the right side being different for reasons unknown.
A few ways to combat the right side would be to pay extra attention to it by brushing it 3x's as much as you would the rest of your hair. Another thing would be to apply extra amounts of product on the area to help it to comply. Last thing would be to Durag it at night because we for some reason tend to sleep on our right side, which can destroy the pattern if not properly maintained.
