Okay so a week and a half ago I had my hair dyed by a professional from my natural blond to brown. She put in a semi-perm hair dye because it is too much of a drastic change and she felt a semi would be the best option. I was going to go back in a month to get it redone but its fading faster than I expected. The tips of my hair are going lighter a lot faster than the rest of my hair and I dont like the ashy brown colour they are turning.

This was my before and after http://talk.hairboutique.com//forum_posts.asp?TID=58502 - http://talk.hairboutique.com//forum_posts.asp?TID=58502

My hair dresser is going away till the 23rd so I cant go see her, do you guys think I can get good result with a semi perm home hair dye?

What should I do????

The reason the ends are lighter is because the hair is more pourus. You could try Fanci-full colour depositing shampoo in a dark chocolate brown colour.

Do you plan to go back to blonde?

Eventually but I REALLY like the brown and would like to keep it for a couple of months.

Can you recommend a shampoo?

Definitely a colour locking shampoo, I found Sunsilk Colour Lock worked really well.

Fanci-full rinses (you can get them from chemists) are really good though, you just put them in in the shower and it tops off your colour.

If you do a semi,I would go for like,Natural instincts. You only leave it in for ten minutes. It washes out in like 28 days or something. Dont pick anything too dark though! It wont wash out if you do,and then it will be harder to go blonde.

Or you could try a color depositing shampoo or color glaze. I have used ARTec (which is now Loreal) and John Frieda color glaze. Both help add in some color.

Here is a link about the shampoo...you have to scroll down to see the brunette ones. For your color probably the hazelnut or the walnut would be a good choice. The coco bean one may be too dark.

Clairol I think makes Shimmer Lights, Ive used the silver/white and it worked REALLY well, and they make a brunette/red, and it's not really expensive.
