Hey Everybody! 
I really need help!
I used to go to a professional hair stylist about every 3 weeks. I'm African American so I used to get my hair flat ironed, but the stylist would use Marcel Irons. Little did I know they were breaking my hair off. So, I stoped going to him... now I'm trying to grow my hair back...
About 2 months ago I got signed to the Largest Modeling Agency, so I asked my agent could I get extensions...
She said yes... AND I WAS SO SO SO HAPPY!!!!
This is where the happiness ENDS!!!
 I need to know what type of extensions I can get that aren't damaging to my hair... I don't want any type of glue either...
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

Everyone is different but a lot of people think sew ins are best for african american hair. Find a someone that has experience with working in african american hair/extensions. ------------- I'm selfish, impatient, & a little insecure, I make mistakes, I am out of control, & at times, hard to handle. But if you cant handle me at my worst, then you sure as HELL dont deserve me at my best |

Sew ins In my opinon are the best for people wanting to protect and grow out their hair. Get a sew in with a net and a closure therefore your hair is hidden and gets time to grow back. | I dont recommand great lengths for poeple with breakage issues and trying to grow their hair. I have had them for 6 years and have been unable to grow my hair because it gets damaged from the bonds and the tangling. |

| everybody knows gl is the healthiest bond for hair...if anyone has breakage or tangling or matting its because you didn't maintain them the right way. i've known tons of people who have GROWN their hair out from bobs to four inches passed shoulder wearing great lengths for years...it just depends on how well you take care of them. |

Hairstylist, perhaps it has to do with application as well. I can't
imagine all the fault being on the people who posted about their bad
experience with GL. Also, it shouldn't require such specific care.

I agree with the sew ins being the best method. GREAT LENGTH is definitely not the best method if you want to keep your hair healthy. its smotheres your hair where the bond is attached and the removal process is stressful on the hair no matter how careful and delicate the technique is.
I had them in for 6 years, i took the best care possible. used wonderful shampoos and conditioners, had them checked and replaced as early as 2-3 months ( sometimes sooner in the areas where my hair is shorter or grew faster) and still my hair came out so damaged.
Everyone I know that ever had them came out of them with damaged hair.
And Malibu is right, if you cannot take care of GL extensions as you do your own hair, then they definitely are NOT the healthiest way to go. It shouldnt be that hard to take care of them, and not to forget most poeple who get them are regular poeple (not hair professionals), who just want better hair...Trust me I know ! noone took better care of them than I did and that didnt help!
sew ins methods ( and there are many intricate ones) are the best option !

For African american hair I would reccommend a full sew in with a closure. The reason is for all the photoshoots, and heavy lighting on your hair, and skin your hair will have to be protected. There isn't enough product out there to protect your hair from all that a model has to do in a day. Good luck for finding a stylist. If you need to locate a stylist you will probably need to visit http://www.blackhairmedia.com - www.blackhairmedia.com . You will find a lot of information on hair as well as stylist to use.

Thanks for your responses!
I just got Sew-In Extensions! They were very painful in the front so I had my mom losen them up... but she didn't apply them I had them professionally done!
But, I ran into a problem... I can't put my hair in a ponytail! It just wasn't smooth!
So, I would like to know how it would be if I got Cold Fusion (Strand by Strand)... Or how it would be if I got Cold Fusion in the front and Sew-In in the back!

you need to let the stylist know that you intend on wearing a ponytail. She will leave some hair around the edges out and sew it in differently. Pinch braids are probably the best strand by strand method because they use no glue or rings. They are attached at the roots with string. Just one snip, and they're out. If the attachment point shows, it looks cute like little braids at the scalp. To look into this method I would google "HairPolice" for the salon in your area.
