Well, I was going to attach a pic---but wasn't sure how. Do I have download them on the web first? If so, what is a free site I can use?
But the main concern is that my hair is really really short. I wan to grow it out but don't know really how to start. Is there certain vitamins/supplements I could be taking to help this growth? I feel like it's never going to get long!!! HELP PLEASE.......i don't know how to go about all this.

Patience. The art of realizing that hair doesn't grow overnight is what you aim to cultivate.
No supplement, no magic pill is going to give you long hair. Patience, and letting your hair GROW is the key.
Now - eating a good diet, with good protein, getting enough sleep, enough exercise and enough relaxation are very important. Supporting your body, and therefore, your hair is a huge part of having healthy long hair. Stop the damage - no more blowdrying, no more highlighting, no more colouring. These things are BAD for your hair. Learn how ( from these and all the other boards out there) to comb and brush your hair - gently and carefully. Learn about the various pitfalls having longer hair brings - necklaces and buttons on the back of clothes, car doors, and things you wouldn't think would be a hazard - somebody's had it happen. Experiment with shampoo and conditioner, leave-in's and oils, "systems" of hair care, using products in different ways, natural and synthetic. Read about other people's experiences with supplements, herbs, and products.
Ask questions -because there is NO such thing as a stupid question - the only way you'll know is to ask.
Most of all, remember that YOU are the only person that has to be happy with your hair. Not your SO, your boss, or your family - ONLY YOU.
Welcome to a place where people are happy to talk about hair all day. Have fun.

In response to 'supplements/vitamins'?? I have been using HF37 for two months now...my hair growth has been phenomenal!!! Thickness, texture, shine..has all improved.. Added bonus? My nails!!! I don't think they can break...are so long, hard, flexible!! Tips very white, look sooo nice!!!
I know all things don't work for all people, but ya might want to check it out. I was very skeptical at first...but now..don't plan on being w/out them!!

Really Mylissa? That's interesting.
I'm going to start another thread, asking if anyone can speak from experience and compare HF37, Ultra Nourishair and Hairtopia. http://talk.hairboutique.com/forum/viewthread.asp?forum=AMB_AP393429385&id=1839 - http://talk.hairboutique.com/forum/viewthread.asp?forum=AMB_AP393429385&id=1839
Cuz I would really like to know more before I make an investment. I know Karen stopped carrying HF37 to carry Hairtopia instead, so she must think it's better, and I would trust her. But maybe she stopped carrying it for other reasons.
I'm just taking Ultra Nourishair because it's cheap and I can get it here in town. It seems to be doing good things for me. I can't tell if it's growing faster or stronger, but I definitely have less fall out!

Vitamin supplements work only if you were deficient in the first place. If your body is receiving all the nutrients and vitamins and minerals it needs, it is scientifically impossible for more vitamins and minerals to make it grow faster!
However, with the busy lifestyles that most of us hold today, probably many of us are vitamin-deficient.
I've recently grown out my hair from very short to just below my bra. Patience is absolutely paramount. There is a period when the hair is too "long" to be short and out of the way, yet too "short" to be able to do much with it, so it just kind of lies there, like an uninvited guest. That's when the urge to cut it greatest. If you can get past that point, from then on, it's MUCH easier!
Also, wearing a scarf or headband can solve a lot of those awkward in-between times as well.

Hey Jennifer,
Congratulations on your regrowth. I guess you're about where you were when the "madness" began, right? Remember those "Hair Politics" days?
