So I'm a brunette and thought it might be fun to be a blonde for a while.  I bought a home kit the other day and the results were just a shade lighter.  I was determined, so I went the next day and bought ANOTHER kit, only this time I used a very light blonde.  Now my hair is strawberry blonde and it looks terrible on me.  It's been a few days and now I just want brown hair.  Will it damage my hair too bad if I dye it again?

You could use a deposit only semi or demi permanent color.  They have low peroxide and won't damage your hair.  You could use a permanent, but your hair is probably extra porous due to the two applications of color.  I'd pick a color slighly lighter than what you want the result to be, since porous hair will asorb color more readily.  It's easier to go darker than lighter.

You could also try a toner if you want to try blonde.  Blonde boxed haircolor is hard for brunettes, since it usually doesn't have enough lifting power.  Bleach & toner is usually the way to go, but it is also tricky and a two step process.

What kind of kit are you using? Doesnt sound like it's the right kind if it only lightened that little.
You should be using a maximum bleaching kit like Super blonde (loreal) or Maxi blonde (clairol) and then toning it afterwards.

If you bought one of these bleaching kits,you could still be a blonde if you wanted.You'd also need to buy a blonde color to tone with after bleaching.

If it is your desire to just go back to brunette,then valkyrie grrl is right a semi or demi is best because it only deposits color (I prefer natural instincts)
It shouldnt damage your hair at all really.

When I dyed my hair a horrible orange in high school, I looked horrible in it, too. But now I love being a blonde (a lovely colour blonde). You don't have to give up, just find the shade that's right for you.

Whatever you do, wait at least for a week to let you hair rest ^^;
