Does anyone know an easy way to create this hairstyle (pics below)? I've attempted it many times before with various suggestions from people, but it never really works.
I've tried using sprays and gels with hot rollers, curling irons, sponge rollers (leaving them on overnight), etc etc... nothing really works and creates these chunky twisty waves.

I looked up how to do this online today and found way to do it, tried it, but it totally didn't work.
Basically the suggestion was to divide hair into chunks, twist them, than twirl and clip them on top of my head, than dry it.
I washed my hair and dried it but not completely, put product in it (Schwarzkopf Osis+ matt gum), created those twists, than dried it more to set the product. I took out the twists and kinda brushed them through with just my fingers. It turned out slightly like I wanted it to, but definitely not exactly the same. It's been about 15 minutes since I did this and my hair is already almost completely flat/straight.

I don't know of any other way to create this exact same hairstyle and actually have it look good/stay for longer than 10 minutes.

I'd greatly appreciate any suggestions on how I can make this look the way it's supposed to Smile

Well, the advice you read online is usually how you do acheive this look.I'm guessing maybe it doesnt turn out exactly is because in those pics that girl has hair extensions.
You may try using a large/medium barrel curling iron and sort of turning it sideways making like a spiral curl. Then using an extra hold hairspray to keep it in place.

Thanks.
The curling iron I used is small... so I should probably use the one you suggested (I have two different ones: a large and a smalle). So I should just try using the bigger one.
She definitely does have extentions... that would probably help but I don't think I wanna spend that much money on extentions at this point.
I'll probably just have to try using stronger products as well (a better hairspray, as much as I dislike using that type of product in my hair it would probably help). Thanks again!
