Hello, i need some help.

I currently have full head highlights. I want to go platinum blonde, but i will have to do it here at home.
I am a bit scared of bleaching my hair since before i started highlighting my hair it was black. Now a year later it is very much highlighted but i want one solid color.
What bleach should i use so it doesnt go orange?
I saw some reviews for Clairol Born blonde and thought i  might give it a try.  Here is the one i was thinking of using:

Born blonde is supposed to be good.I have used the Maxi blonde before and it worked ok.
Some key points ....Try super hard not to bleach the hair that is already highlighted and blonde. If you do,it's possible it will break off.

Also, the tricky part with bleaching,is all hair bleaches at a different rate. So,you have to keep checking the color which is kind of a pain.
Your hair will only be orange if you rinse it out too soon.Or if you have left it on the maximum time and it still hasnt lifted enough. In which case you may have to do it twice.

If for some reason it does turn orange...if you have a ash color handy and dont want to bleach again, that should help minimize the orange. It may even be a good idea to buy one ahead of time just incase. But dont put the ash over the already blonde hair,as it will look greenish.

Wow, thank you sooo much!   I will try the Born blonde.
Just a quick question, Does the born blonde really lift previous colors? Also, does it damage hair alot?

Thanks in advance!Thumbs%20Up

It's bleach so it will lift previous colours. However they might turn out slightly darker.

Remember to tone, unless you want a golden blonde this is necessary. There's a million different trpes, you could even use the silver/purple shampoos. Look out for violet based toners created for cancelling out yellow/gold tones.

Rinse the bleach off when it is a pale yellow, no sooner no later (unless you have a problem), then tone to get to platinum.

Good luck with it.

Another option is that you can have your hairdresser do more highlights all over in a very fine weave, covering as much unhighlighted hair as possible. If you are not blond enough with that, you will surely look like a natural all over blonde that next time it's done.

Doing this will will ensure that the already highlighted hair won't be bleached again, causing breakage and/or hair loss. I've gone blonde gradually this way with very natural looking results. Eventually you can simply do root touch-ups as an all over color rather than getting foils.

Yes, i did decide i did not want to mess up my hair. I will keep highlighting it till its blonde.                      He  (my hairdresser) does very fine strands, but i have a lot of hair and its long.
I guess id rather keep paying $250 than mess it up.
Thanks everyone!

If your are scared of doing it at home..... DONT cause the result will NEVER be the way you want.... and going PLATINUM is hard and long and very scary.... I'd say go to a salon. I love your haircolor now, it's gorgeous!
