I`d like your opinion. I`m a 33 year old guy. I really, really like curly hair. I have wavy hair, but would really like it to be much curlier - in the neighborhood of Justin Timberlake curly. My hairstylist has said the only way to get there is of course with a perm.
Not being sure of wanting to be "married" to a perm without knowing how it would turn out, my longtime hairstylist suggested curling my hair with a very small curling iron to get an idea. The curls turned out great and it was just what I wanted - but my stylist then said a perm won`t be quite the same.
I left the salon with my head in curls and decided to think about it, AND get my wife`s opinion (who didn`t know I was doing this, but know`s I love curly hair). She, was "OK" with the style, but said she wasn`t really sure she wanted me to get "permed". She suggested that if I really liked these curls why not just have this done occassionally (the curling iron curls).
So here are a couple questions. Is it out of fashion for a guy to get a perm? Would it be better to go with my wife`s idea? Since I really like my hair curly, shouldn`t my wife support my desire to have a curly style? Any other options anyone can suggest?
Thanks for your input!
