Okay for starters my hair is currently this color:

In about a weeks time I'm going to my salon for an all over color job, just to get a solid color, do my roots, get rid of the gold tones etc. Which color do you guys think would get me to about a platinum blonde? Not super white but maybe about this color?:

I heard that if you go with a light ash blonde, then your hair will be pretty light as a result. Is this true? If not, what do you think would work?

Thanks a ton in advance Smile

Yes,Ash gets out goldish tones and makes hair seem "whiter",more platinum.
Too much ash can leave hair looking greenish or greyish, but that shouldnt be a problem right now since you have alot of gold tones.(which I think your hair is Gorgeous! I cant wait until mine is that long!!!)
Maybe print out that picture and take it with you as a reference for your stylist.

Perfect! Thanks so much :)
I heard that a light natural blonde works too. Is this true? And which one do you think would work better to achieve that platinum look?

Light natural may work, but for me it was the light ash that really made it platinum looking.

julesyjul88: Thanks! I'm definitely gonna give the light ash a try.

And thanks, Rebekah! I don't mind the colour I have now, but I've had multitonal hair for what seems like forever, so I'm ready for a change :)
