In my cosmetology book it says, most extension hair is stripped of the cuticle and dipped in silicone and that only more expensive higher quality hair keeps the cuticle intact. It says to NOT use condtioner on cuticle stripped hair because it could matt and tangle the hair.

Well from feeling the hair up the shaft, either it has no cuticle or the cuticle is very smooth - I cannot tell. It's D-Lux hair from YHS. It was absolutely beautiful when I recieved it. Even after I colored it (darker) it still was great. But after the first few shampoos it became tangly, matted as the book described. Maybe that's why YHS discontinued there D-Lux....

So how are you suppose to find good hair? Even if a product says 'Remy, cuticle intact' what are suppose to when the hair is crap after a week?

I still want to try some other hair from YHS. Has anyone tried there Tease line? I also want to try the Byohme when they get it too. Any reviews? I need good hair! (Under $100?)

I think the dlux was discontinued because of shedding issues.
If I had to bet, the tease would react the same way if you color it
and wash it several times. This would happen with most hair that's under
a $100 for 4oz. It's not just the hair from YHS. Like you said, the hair has
a silicone coating and will wear off over time.

I tried the bohyme and several other hair brands in that price range.
I liked the bohyme the best out off all in it's class.

I colored some D-Lux but was warned against it by Kristen herself but I did it anyways and it got matty/tangly.  I still fussed with them on and off but I haven't worn them in a couple weeks.

I just ordered the TEASE machine weft in  #5.   I hope it's a good match for me.

I'm not going to touch it with color and see how it does.   Hopefully it'll hold up better tangly wise.

I like YourHairShop so far and I didn't have a huge prob with shedding with the D-Lux but I swear I couldn't wear it in a ponytail/braid cuz it would poke through my shirt and prick meShocked.Angry

I sure do hope the TEASE is better!!!

AND I SWEAR!!!  I WON'T COLOR IT!Wink

I had D-Lux and it got wavy and tangled.
It also smelled badly.

Bohyme is great, well as long as it's real Bohyme.
I have bought from 3 sellers for Bohyme.
Sherries hairextensions101.com
Hair Sisters
And one I won't mention due to a "bad batch" because she is a member of this board.

Just make sure you find a good seller.

I am on my 2nd install of Tease and I like it very much, except for the bonds.  I have 240 pieces of the Tease u-tip installed and lost over 60 bonds in less then a month!  I lost 16 in the first day.  I even re-heated and flattened all the bonds and they were coming out like crazy.  Regardless, I like the hair so I ordered it again in I-tip and did micro links and I am now very happy.  I have color #4 so no real need to dye them, but I have had NO problems with tangles and matting.  Which is why I got it again even after a bad bond experience

I am on my 4th week of Tease U-Tip install. I have learned that as long as you brush your hair before going to bed (& then braid it) or washing it, it doesn't tangle. I have had about 5 strands come out so far while brushing.

The system I have right now ( dots) is  "supposedly" russian hair and its a tangly mess too. I got some indian hair added on and this is definitely better ( i thought russian was better quality than indian?)
now im looking at this auction and wondering if any of you know about the hair quality she is selling? any idea if this would be tangly or matting?

i think i got bad bonds from YHS too. The hair felt really good but it started falling out like crazy and after 3 weeks it was really tangly. I wound up losing  a grand out of the whole deal but oh well. Live and learn. I won't spend that much money on extensions next time.

Let us know how things go if you order from YHS again.

I never had a problem with shedding from the D-Lux. Held up a hell of a lot better then my indian hair from ebay. Mainly it was just the tanlges! I did everything right. I would brush it before I showered, sleep ect. Normal movement of my neck and shoulders would  cause it to tangle and matt, so I'de have to brush it every 20 minutes. For one reason or another, it had been damaged.

I tried to skim by on there 55% off sale by ordering light auburn and coloring it dark brown but if the hair is going to break down just from that, then it's obviously not good hair in the first place. You know what I mean?

We're learning coloring and highlighting in 2 weeks so I'm going to sport the shoulder length bob and maybe lighten up a little bit and experiment and hopefully I will like it enough not to add more hair in. Hair extensions are such a pain in the ARSE!!!

http://talk.hairboutique.com/member_profile.asp?PF=48285&FID=34 - BeachBunny ~ I have ordered from Sampook before. I got black silky straight clip ins from her. In my opinion, Tease is better quality than that of the clip ins. Not sure if this helps you.
