Hi Everyone!

I'm new to the HB and wanted to introduce myself.

My name is Natalie and I'm an independent singer and songwriter. I run my own music publishing company and co-own a record label. I have also delved into the visual media world and co-run a web and print design company.

I'm totally into hair! I first got interested in messing around with it at about 15 when I started to experiment with color. Pretty soon I started to do hair shows and I did that for a while. Now I basically either do my own hair or go to my local Paul Mitchell school. I used to go to upscale hair botiques but I've learned a lot of techniques myself over the years and I've met tons of hair students who do great work. Plus I totally support up and coming artist of all kinds and since I'm so into hair, I like to network with those who are really into hair as fashion and I find a lot of these types in hair schools.

I have very fine hair (it feels like toddler hair!). That's what got me into experimenting with extensions some years ago. I have a zillion hair pieces and I love to get extensions. I haven't had them in a while, mostly because I wear them when I am out on tour only. When I'm home, I give my hair a rest.

I am getting more and more adventurous with color, while keeping in mind I have to brand myself. It's a bit hard as I tend to be like a chameleon and look very different depending on my hair. Sometimes people don't even recognize me! So even tho I like to experiment, I've learned that one can obscure the face with too much attention on the hairstyle.

I haven't got all my different looks here, but here is a sampling of the looks from the last few years.

I'd love to know what your fave look is. Right now I'm in boring mode- well boring for me anyway... (bottom pic). But I'm gearing up and hoping to http://talk.hairboutique.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=59052 - learn how to pre-bleach to take myself to a red-violet wikked, mad, cool color. I'm not sure yet what I want to do for my next look. I've got an album coming out in the spring and I'm toying between really short again or getting extensions. I'm really not sure which way to go. Whatever way I go I have to keep that look for at least a year (or some close variation of it). So what do you think? Short or long?

I'd love to see your pics also, so if you have them, post em up!. I look forward to getting to know the lovely people here.

Peace,
Nat

Hi Beach Bunny!

Nice to meet you. Do you have the luck of really living near the beach, or do you just love to go there whenever possible?

I was blond all my life, and finally made the leap to red (with the blond braid intermission). I just love Red so much now... but I'd love to go to a more purple red if I can. Just trying to sort out how to do that with the dark color I have now. I'm considering the bleach so I can lighten a few shades and then go for the violet-red.

We shall see!

Thanks for commenting!

Welcome!  I tend to like glamour looks on people so my favorites are the second picture (my first choice fav), then the boxed braids, red violet shoulder length and then very short.  You clearly have lots of fun, and you look great in all of them really, I'm sure everything you do will look great!

BeachBunny!

Alas, I tried tonight to bleach and go to some wikked cherry cola color. I got sandy blond. Sigh... how sad Cry I will keep trying tho. I will prevail in my quest for purple-red! LOL

How's the beach today?

You are a lucky bunny!

Thanks for the welcome Susan! Glamour is so much fun.

I'm so stuck on what to do next. I want it to be 'wow'. But I'm just not sure if it should be short wow or long wow! LOL

Take care!
