I have fine straight hair just above shoulder length.  My problem is that my hair breaks quite easily and then I get short strands of hair sticking out from my head.  There must be celebrities with the same problem but I never see anyone on TV with inch long bits of hair sticking up all over the place! Everyone is so smooth and shiny.

 

I know there are strengthening shampoos etc but they are generally too heavy for my hair.  I don't think I will be able to solve the breakage problem itself but what I would like to know is, what do people use after drying the hair to get these bits to stay down?  

 

The only part of my hair I blow dry is the fringe (bangs) which takes 5 seconds and the rest I rough dry.  The worst area for breakage therefore is along the parting and where the fringe joins my head.

 

Any suggestions anyone?
