Hi there, I'm new around here and I'd like some advice on what hairstyles might suit me.
Right now I have very long hair, it's brown and wavy, when it's shorter the waves tend to get a bit "tighter" or closer together. I have had long hair for most of my life, but I've had it short (a bit above the shoulders) a few times in the past, the first time I had it cut it came out very well, and the second time it was really bad and kind of put me off of going short again. So getting my hair cut short is a bit of a nerve-wracking experience, and if I do choose to go shorter again I want to be sure I choose a good style.
I apologize for the poor images, I don't have many decent photos of myself and a couple of these are from Halloween pics (my normal style of dress is very casual, jeans and a sweater or jeans and a t-shirt).

These are some styles I like, so I'd love to hear which ones people think would work ok on me, and I'd also love suggestions of other styles:

I think you would look best in the first pic

I agree that the first one would look awesome on you. I like all of them though. Maybe add some highlights too.

Thanks. I like the first one as well, but that one is quite similar to how I have had my hair in the past, so while I'm considering it, too, I may want to try something different instead. Did either of you have a second choice, too?

I like the 2nd one as well, if you want to go shorter.

Thanks, Jojoswr, I like that one a lot, too. I'm a little hesitant about going that short, because I think I might end up looking very boyish, what's your opinion?
Sorry to keep asking you questions, haha, but I appreciate your advice. I've also been trying to figure out how that particular hairstyle would probably look from the front since I can't seem to find any pictures of it from that angle.

I don't think that style would make you look boyish at all. Looks stylish and sexy. It's just hair. It grows back.

Thanks for the reassurance, Jojoswr : ). Whatever I do it'll be a dramatic change, hence my hesitation heh.

I like 4 and 6... you would need to get use to hot rollers and curling irons though...

I like the second one and think this may suit your hair better as it has a natural wave which complements the style. The other style are all nice but looks like they would need lots of blow drying to ne achieved. I suppose on how big a change you want. But when your cutting your hair from the length it is now, will an extra inch or too make really that much difference? Pick the style that you like the look of the most then ask your stylist would it suit you. Maybe she her your next favourite as well and see what she has to say.
Good luck
