I just got my Wagman hair in and it was so not my color...so I tried to color it.....it's a better color but it's too red. I ordered a #30 but is looks more like a 33....How can I get it from that dark of a red back to more of a brownish....a #30 on a bohmye color ring???????????
I mix #30 and #12 for my installs......so right now this is so not matching.
Any suggestions on how to get that burgundy red out and drop it back to a ginger/brown.....????
THANKS to anyone who can help!

JeepGirl

you can deposit color only - try a semi permanent color like a brown level 6
if you dont want any red, use a brown with a green base, green cancels out red...
dont use any higher level of peroxide then 10 vol.

how do I know it has a green base....sorry....I have no idea...I color my hair all the time but this I'm not familiar with.
Now you tell me not to use higher than 10 level..lol..I used a 30 the first color go round.......so can I fix this still?
Thanks for coming to my rescue Tangles!!!!!!!!

if you are depositing color you do not need a high lift developer. 10 vol deposits, 20 lifts one - two levels and deposits color, and 30 and 40 lift 3-4 levels and deposits color.
no need to open up the cuticle to make darker.
a green base, it would say on the bottle, like 6ng which would be nuteral green. or 6 gb gold brown, i would prob go with that.
i cant say for sure without seeing the hair in person, and the color line you are going to buy, you could take the hair to a beauty supply and tell them what u want to acheive and they would be able to direct you,
good luck,
sand
ps yes you can still fix it

If u wanted to tone down the red, I would use something with a ash, because the green will tone down the red, My hair always pulls red and gold tones so I use a ash color to cancel the warm and make it neutral! does that make sense? Can un post a picture of the color it is now, and what u want it to be, that would help

Thanks Ladies....I never knew that about color.....always wondered what the letters were all about. I wish I could go to Sallys and have them help but they have no clue at this store. I tried this before and the staff here knows more about nail polish than hair...go figure. I've just stop asking them. I knew my ladies here could help!
I bought the Wagman #30 and it was more like a #33 in most others peoples color ring...that dark bugundy red.....now that I tried to color the first time it is still red but darker. I want it to be more brown. Im mixing it with # 12. I put the 12 on top and use the other for my bottom / underneath color and mix it throuhout to basically get the color you see in my advatar. Im a redhead and that "natural red" color is what Im after. It's my original hair color and so much easier to keep up these days. Just have to keep the grey roots colored and Im good to go!
Once again...Thank you ladies...going to Sallys tomorrow and find my letters on my bottle and try and fix this hair.
Not real happy with this Wagman hair...I bought the natural body....it's super thin on the ends...like it's old hair....and frizzy after blow drying it and a flat iron made it look somewhat better but not great. I hope after I get it installed I can do more with it. Atleast it was on sale for 95 bucks for 4 oz....but no refunds...hince why I colored it! If you compare it to my bohyme bodywave I got in.....night and day....bohyme is thick and full and soft....oh well....live and learn...who knows once I wear it I may love it.

Hi,
Thanks for all the feedback. Have you used Wagman before or is this your first time? If so, what attracted you to Wagman?

If I were u, I would have sent it back, and they would have send new hair, My hair didn't need any trimming, and was thick on the ends, but I guess it's too late because u already colored it! I hope u like it when u install it!

Total bummer Jeepgirl. That happens sometimes and you feel like you threw money away...I guess live and learn. I think Saralee is right about sending it back. You might want to try calling them and telling them what happened. Who knows, they may exchange it for you. It's worth a shot.

I couldn't send it back....it was bought at the closeout price of95 bucks.....I would of sent it back otherwise. The ends looks just terrible....nothing like bohyme......I hope I can make it work. This will be the first time Ive ever been stuck with hair that I didn't like.
I have never used wagman before but have been hearing all the luck that others have had and thought....why not give it a try...and the price was great...they are going up and were selling to get rid of the current stock.
By the time I cut this hair it will be more like16 inches at best...maybe more like 14.....crying here...my bohyme is so nice and long....and soft.............boooh hooo
Im going to be really upset if I can't get it to a color I can work with...not to mention if this hair becomes a bear to work with.....gawd im pissed!

I guess use it as fill in hair with your Bohyme. I'm confused as to why some people get good hair from Wagman and sometimes you hear this. You're not the first person who thought the Wagman hair was crappy although I never read any bad reviews on the natural color wagman. I don't get it??

Ok I bought a Wella color in a 7NG...green base.....doesn't look any different.....it's drying now.....gawd im sick about this......i need to do a take down and re-install............man this sucks! Should of just stuck with all bohyme hair and called it a day.
I mixed it 2 to 1 with a 20 developer. Shouldn't it of changed the figin' color or did I do something wrong....never seen hair so hard to color......do I have any other alternatives?

Hey Jeepgirl,
I sure hope your color turned out better than it was sounding.
I had a question about the Bohyme colors you wear. I know you wear Bohyme 30, and I know you wear 14. But I believe you said you have used 12 before also?
My question is how much different do the Bohyme 12 and 30 look? My experience with Bohyme is that the 30 is not quite as red as some of the other brands and tends to look very close to the 12 I currently wear of another brand.
And, if you have both, in Bohyme, would you say the 30 or the 12 looks darker in tone?
I am going to order some Bohyme and make my own clip ins. I have used the Bohyme 30 and it is nice. I haven't seen the Bohyme 12 but , in general, I do like the 12 just a bit better if it has the red in it and is dark enough.
ANy thoughts?

The #12 looks much darker on the bohyme color ring...but it is much lighter............anything from12 to 18 are really close in tone.......14-14b-16...more blonde............but the 12 is a bit more brownish/blonde red...if that makes sense.............the 30 in bohyme is really a nice dark brown red,,,,,,,,,,blends very well with anything ranging from 12-18........and lm sure others have there own combonations they can tell you about.
I just fell into this color combo 2 months ago and it make a really natural red tone....blends my lighter top color with my roots and under neath color. Well I should say the 30 and 14 which I have been wearing...this is the first time ordering 12...but it looks the same color as 14...I put it up next to my left over 14 and it looks the same...........goiing to look at the color ring and the hair in the day light tomorrow to see if it is different.
None the less....those colors combos look really natural together.....
So Krystal....yes the 30 is more brown than red......its a really pretty natural color............but not the 30 I got from Wagnam.......it was more lke a 33...bugurndy red................dried it after coloring 2x............still the same crappy color I started out with,,,,,,,,,,,,,,hopefully tomorrow I will figure out what to do with my new install....may have to go get a color to match the wagnum hair and blend it that way...........not happy with that...but maybe I can make it work.................trust me....ill post pics of this install....good or bad..............if nothing else it might be good for a chuckle for you all............it will be the first install Ive ever done that I hated before it hit my head............so very sad............booh hoooooo

2 to 1?
why not equal parts?
level 7 is too light, it wouldnt do anything, you need at least a level 6

Thanks Jeepgirl,
I am definitely going to stick with the Bohyme 30 then. I had a feeling their 12 might be a little light. That 30 is the most beautiful color to me.
I wish you luck in bringing your newest piece to that level. It sounds like it has a completely different tone to it. Believe me... I'm pretty new at this stuff and I already feel the pain of getitng hair you can't use.

Tangles...hince why Im not a hair dresser...lol.....the directions say 2 to 1.........so I thought I was doing good reading them.....obviously not....lol
Maybe I ll give it another go......
I took my 2 month old install out....(this is my 2nd install with this hair) this time I wore it for 51/2 weeks....my longest time....think it has something to do with the super tape. That was my first installwith that tape...like it way better than the protac....now I like the ease of the 12" protac.....I don'tlike the roll...wish they would make it in the strips....but supertape does wear better and doesn't get near as sticky. I got a little stickiness the last week or two...but nothing like protac.
Anyways.....I took this bohyme hair out and colored my roots and re-installed it AGAIN!
Tangles...Thanks for the training.....I owe ya one...lol Ill try the 1 to 1 mix with a #6
Krystal, I agree with you on the bohyme #30.......which I wish I could get this wagman that shade......Ill keep trying!
One day Ill have pics of this new hair....IF I can get it colored!

you are welcome. What brand of color did u use? it prob was 2 to 1 so you can do a high lift. when u do 2 to one- its more developer then color to lift the desired level higher-
for example- some color lines do a 2 to 1 high lift- say you area a level 7 and want to go to a blonde and dont want to use bleach, using double 40 vol dev with color Could make you a level 10 or 12.
so to just deposit color, like i said in my first post, you would only need a level 10 not a 20 or double anything-
go get yourself a level 6 or even 5 10 vol and put it on.
good luck

Man you are wealth of knowledge.....I only used a 20 dev. cause that's what I had instock.....thought I could get away with it.....lol......I used Wella color, 7ng.........I even asked the girl at Sallys....Hmmp!
Im not even sure what color to even buy....I know the color they show is not the color it will make on this basically #33. The hair is almost identical to the bohyme #33 on the color ring.....so I either have to figure out how to fix it or try to color my hair to 33 and buy another weft and add to this........not sure I really want to be that color....I am liking my natural color Ive been doing.
So...if you have a bohyme color ring....look at the 33 and then look at the 30.....that's were I am trying to get to ....lol......by way of Ohmaha it looks like!
God I hope you have a bohyme ring Tangles.....right now your my only hope......I just never thought of doing 1 to 1 mix.....so I would need several bottles of color and 10 developer......now which color....Is there any difference in the brands of developers and what about the color?
Ive bought myself some time re-installing my old hair.....,I was looking forward to new hair......I've never worn my hair past 2 months....but it's still in pretty good shape.
Now if I can get mine to last as long as Sherrie did on her Bohyme install!

SO you are saying...for example...I usually blonde my bangs in the summer....instead of bleaching my bangs I can use a blonde hair color and do adouble 40 dev....? Did I understand that correctly?
Im assuming this is less damaging on ones hair.......

hi- wealth of information comes from years of training and working,
i do not have a boyhme color ring, however i do know the colors 33R and 30 R
i thought u wanted to be brown, not red- or just a darker red, like a burgandy right?
if you want to stay red but darker, you would prob need a level 5 R
if you want to be a brown with no red, then go with a level 5 or 6 brown nuteral or G- for green to cancel out the red
10 vol only one to one ratio= equal parts of each
wella is ok color for over the counter.
for the double vol idea- your hair needs to be about a level 7 or 8 in order to go to a level 10-12 with color,
each level of proxide lifts a certain amount of natural level
now remember- color doesnt lift color, so if you have color on your hair and want to use double 40 to lift, chances are it wont, and bleach would be faster.
20 vol lifts 1 level
30 vol lifts 2 levels
40 vol lifts 3-4 levels very harsh, must be watched.
typicially i use 30 vol with schwarkop bleach on most of my clients, i can watch it and get a beautiful blonde without brass or yellowing
for color, i use 20 vol for everyone.
hope i helped- where are u at- come to cali and let me do it!

Can you tell the color of the underneath is a 30....??? It matches my roots....my 30 is all at the bottom and also mixed with my other color on top.
LOl.....I live in Nashville, Tenn...a bit far if ya know what I mean....wish I could come and let you fix this mess of a weft.
Well Im trying to get that 30 color...it has a ginger/brown base.......hell at this point if I could get that frigin' 33 to anything other than that red/burgunday and somwhere closer I'd be skippy happy. I use to wear the 10 underneath and under my layers but after ordering the 30, well it just a bit more ginger base to it instead of that flat brown color of a 10....sorry it's the only way I can think to describe it....lol
The 33 is just so dark and red/b....can I really get it to a 30 or even a 10......just mixig 1 to 1? with Sally's color???? LOL
Gurl I know you are the hair diva of Cali.........famous hair diva to I might add......I bow to thee oh great one!
I know..you;ve already told me.....I just hate to color it again and still not get the results...but I understand now why I didn't...now it's just trying to get the color I want. I wish I had access to better color but Sallys.... it is.......ok...going to buy 10dev. and some more color and do a 1-1...got it!
Thanks for ALL the time and info tangles! Your a cool chic to share so much!
Have a great weekend...well whats left of it!
When are we going to see you on TV again?

ok- got it- no you need to get it lighter not darker, color will not lighten it- i do have a great suggustion-
how about leaving that in and adding about maybe 20 or so individual strands of the color you are wanting, you can apply them directly to the weft, using either microcyliders or glue for that matter-( i hate glue but on the weft it really wont matter) space them about an inch or two apart, it will blend in the top color and also give u some dimension with the darker color.
