I am a long haired mail who just got a job as a dealer for a casino with a No-long-hair policy. I thought I would be willing to sacrifice my long hair to get the job, but the more I think about it the more it bothers me. I now try to think of a way to convince the managers to let me keep my hair long and I thought that if I can prove that I can keep the hair long without looking like a slob, they just might let me keep it that way. I am a novice when it comes to maintaining my hair and making it look good, I usually just put it up in a ponytail with a rubberband and I don`t cut it as often as I should. What would be the best way to make my long hair look good. Should I use wax? Put it up with a ribbon? Cut it in a certain way? Any advice is welcome.

Well, I`m no expert or anything, but I`d say that if you take care of it, so that it doesn`t look dry or anything, and just get a bit of a `neaten up` trim, and tie it back with a proper tie, that should make it look ok.

When I was in the Air Force, I French-braided my hair and then tucked it under the braid on my head. This style looked neat, held with two hairpins, and took about five minutes to do. I have thick, wavy hair, which helps.

I won`t take a job that requires me to cut my hair.

The casino is being sexist. I don`t believe in casinos myself, but
that detail aside, would want to avoid patronising a place with
such primaeval regulations. Anyway, one thing you could do
is buy a short hairpiece and hide the hair underneath.
