A few wks ago I used Color Fix to remove artificial color from my naturally dark brn hair-(I had been using over the counter color to add bronze tones-hair color had dark base) I badly wanted to lighten my hair to a carmel color and hoped to put a few lighter highlights in after that. Well-I think the dyed color removed ok--I applied L0real professional color Mega Browns in Caramel(naturally!) My hair came out healthy and glossy but still way too dark--my greys did seem to pick up the color I wanted-mostly around my face. Not bad--but this past wknd I took the plunge and bleached my hair-left on the max time to a mostly yellow color-some areas even a bit lighter. I Tried Ion color(wish now I'd used Goldwell)-bought a dark neutral blond for base and dark blond gold to break up a bit with highlights.I knew at least that my hair would probably process darker so I chose the dark blonde instead of the browns. (Carmel?!!) Well-hair is still darker than I want-thank God the gold tone color added SOME dimension. (a bit too red tho for my taste) Does anyone have any thoughts as to how I can actually get to a carmel shade with deep gold highlights? I guess I have to bleach AGAIN? Has anyone ever messed with bleaching again so soon? My hair is quite short and I try to take good care of it-seems OK after this coloring episode condition wise. Would appreciate any thoughts from anyone! I just don't seem to be getting it right..
