About three weeks ago I thought about going lighter(chocolate brown-dark /light brown)so my premature grey(whiteys)would blend more.My hair had been permed 4 mnths prior and colored, and to that, needless to say it was dry to begin with BUT I take very good care of my hair.I went to the salon with my hair color strand to show the color I wanted .Didn`t get it, 8 hours later I found my hair was a banana yellow with oarnge ends.I could not go around with freakish hair.Even though my hair was fried ,I had to go and have it colored back, this time to be a pretty swamp mama green. I told the beautician that this was not what I wanted and had another application of color applied. My head was seriously cooking! Anyways , my hair had some what of abrown cast by the time I left. My hair is in Gross Shape and I do Not want to cut it because the first beautician chopped it in choppy layers. What can I do To help my hair?

Oh my What a disaster, don`t go back there at all. Here is one of 2 ideas, first look in the local phone book for a salon that specializes in color correction. Go see them and let them advise you. I tried to make my drk brown hair drk blonde and screwed it up big time. I went to my salon and they fixed it, it actually looked stunning when they were done. Cost me $70.00 to fix that mess. Make sure you have a real indept conversation before committing to anything else!
If you cna live with the color! 2nd idea---go out and get the most moisturizing conditioner you can find, try Queen Helene Cholesteral at Sally`s, it is cheap and it works. Slap a lot of it on (do not use heat), cover with a plastic cap and leave on for a couple of hours. Rinse with cold water and repeat every few days. Do not shampoo or do anything to dry out hair any further. Do just a baic hair style (like a pony tail if possible) for a couple of weeks.
The 2nd idea will take time but you can help your hair with it. Also cover your hair if you are out in the sun for a long time (watching soccer etc..).
Good Luck!
