Hi everyone, hope you're all ok.
Right, I'm thinking about getting lowlights, but not sure. My hair is just below my shoulders and is highlighted light blonde, although I haven't had it done for 4-5 months so its not in bad condition and it doesn't show too much since my hair is naturally quite light.
I'm having trouble uploading a picture, so: http://www.bebo.com/georgiahoneybee - http://www.bebo.com/georgiahoneybee . Its not the best choice of picture since its old and my hair is slightly shorter than that now, a little lighter and brighter blonde and I have a full fringe.
What I was thinking, was maybe something like this....
http://www.style-hair-magazine.com/image-files/largeblondehaircolor3.jpg - http://www.style-hair-magazine.com/image-files/largeblondehaircolor3.jpg
So that the lowlights are more underneath my hair if that makes sense. I'm not sure though because I don't want anything expensive/difficult to maintain and atm I am desperately trying to grow my hair so I guess I shouldn't really be colouring it as I want it to be in good condition.
I guess I'm just thinking and looking into it atm, as I reckon I'm too poor to have it done atm (don't suppose anyone could suggest roughly how much something like this would cost), and I'm not sure it would really look good for summer.
Anyway, thanks for reading all that, does anyone have any thoughts on whether or not it would suit me? How easy it would be to maintain? Or anything else?
Thanks very much

I think it's a great look, adds spice to your image. Adding those low lights won't damage your hair at all. You won't see them grow out because they're underneath, so you could easily go probably a year without retouching.

Salon prices vary, these would only cost 40-50 $ at my salon. Phone ahead and check if you like.

Thank you very much!
Yeah I definitely think I'm gonna go ahead and get it done, just a case of finding the right salon now!
I think I will phone around and ask how much they would charge, what do I ask for though? Does that particular way of colouring a few strands underneath the hair have a name?
Thanks

Hiya,

Just ask for what us stylist call a Vail section to be taken at the top of your head, basically this is a section taken from your natural pattern and clipped out of the way then the low lights applied to your hair on the next section. This will give you the low lights underneath so that when you have root regrowth this will not show. Cost wise it really depends on which salon you go to. My salon charges between £60 to £80 depending on hair length.

Hope this help a little, Karen.
