Hi everyone...
You all have been so amazing, and I wish I would have found this forum before I got my GL Extensions done.
I have had them 3 weeks.  When I went for the consult, I asked to see the hair.  It was 613 blonde, very blonde, and looked kind of crappy.  when I asked her, she stated that my hair would be beautiful..."dont worry."
I paid my 800.00 down, and then went for the install, and honestly, she did a super good job on it.  She used Three colors...a very light blonde, a golden blonde, and maybe a 27, a strawberry blonde.
The strands were straight when she installed them, and they looked kind of crappy even then.  After the install I was really taken aback, b/c I used to use Sally remy clip ins 613/27 straights and they were silky and really nice and held up really well.
When she got done blending, ect, I really was wondering if I made the right decision.  They looked like straw then...Even though Ive posted saying the morrocanoil has helped and Im happy, I had to really take a look and say "IM really NOT happy with this hair."
Why should I have to apply something this soon....I used their product, which did nothing, and then used my salon product. and it did nothing...And Im really angry that I called a few days ago and the tech hasnt called me back...
I have to let it air dry, or its a frizzy nightmare, EVEN with the morrocanoil, and I want to wear it straight.  There is NO way that will happen.
Also I saw two other ppl at her salon who wears these and their hair looked amazing.  DK, brown, and Dk red...
Im really happy with the install, completely happy, but the hair to me is worse than Barbie on crack...
She says its the "BEST" from Russia.  I also read somewhere to have documentation if the person is really getting it from Russia.
Any Help or Ideas?
Thanks for ANY help or advice.  PLEASE!!!
xoxoxo,
Balenciaga

Maybe you should go back to the salon in person instead of calling.  Especially if she is not returning your calls...JMO

Hope all works out for you...

Thank you for your reply...She did return my calls the first few days, and then, I know she was going out of town, but I didnt hear from her again...I know she is back, maybe she didnt get the message, but Im really bummed,  she returned all of my calls, ect before i paid.

Ill try again tomorrow, and if I dont get a call back Ill drive there.   Its 2 hrs away.
Thank you again for reading my long post~

I agree with Tangles. Go back and make her switch it for some better looking hair. High lift blondes do sometimes get over processed. This is probably one of the reasons her other clients hair looked better.
But, it's still her responsibilty to make sure you are happy with the hair, especially because you paid so much. I'm sure you paid a lot, $800. Is a lot of money for a deposit.
Also, your hairdresser is misinformed, GL uses ONLY Indian hair.

I feel you on this one.

A couple of years ago I was too miserable with my GL hair.  I was lucky (I guess) that the woman who installed my hair gave me a refund on the hair....but NOT the labor.  Not to mention the 8 hour roundtrip travel to get to Boston to do it in the first place.  Grrrr.

I'm considering extensions again and will not even entertain the notion of GL hair.  Keep on the stylist.  If we get what we pay for, you certainly deserve better.

That's a shame . My GL hair is by far the best hair (soft, bouncy, smooth) that I've ever had. The method may not be for me long term, but the hair rocks. It is blondes, but short.

Why not have a great hair day???

I agree that you should definitely go back to her to make sure that you are happy with the hair quality. I have found through experience that the GL hair in dark colors is great b/c they don't dye it but the blonde colors are hit or miss with the quality and it definitely is INDIAN HAIR not Russian. You may want to check out the GL website to make sure she is certified in GL and is not ordering it from somewhere else and calling it GL. Did you talk to any of her clients to see how they like the hair/install before getting yours done? any references? I always get salons to give me a few references to make sure that others are happy with the services and hair.

I did talk to her, and she had not gotten my messages, and then had gone away for the week.  So, she was VERY accomodating, and told me when I come in that she will replace my hair, and show me though, where she orders it.  It is Indian hair, not russian.  Tat was what a receptionist told me.
I remember seeing the bag it came in and it said GL.  I know she is legit, because yes I did talk to two of her clients who think she rocks.
I was using the spray stuff too often, and it built up on my hair and made it so yukky and gummy and dry.
So now, I have been blowing it out, and curling it and its really alot prettier.  Im going to get it blown out tomorrow and straightened.  That will be the real test.
I try not to do anything to it, because I want to make it last!
Thanks for al of your support.  This board is really nice.
The morroccaniol is amazing.  I would use it on my reg hair even.
Thank you again~

Balenciaga,
Happy to hear you've worked things out with your stylist. I hope you don't mean she's going to chemically straighten your hair.
The Morroccaniol is amazing! Thanks to Metalgirl for the tip.

NO!  I wouldnt EVER get this straightened...Actually she was very accomodating, and said we can do whatever I wanted to do...I was kind of put off b/c I felt she didnt return my calls, but she was gone during Easter.  So...Im just going with an open attitude, but not "blind, and dumb."
Ive gotten tons of help from everyone here, and Im hoping for the best.
Im in a rural area where the closest city is 8 hrs round trip...so I dont have much to work with...
And yes...Metal, ROCKS!  Im so happy she helped me out with the oil...Its really amazing!!!
Thank you again for all of the replies...

I've heard the morrocanoil is a very expensive version of most silicone serums mixed with oil. Someone even wrote out the ingredients in it and they start with the same ones as products like Chi Silk Infusion and Paul Mitchell Skinny Serum --- is this true?

I have both the Morracanoil and the Chi Silk Infusion and the Morracanoil is by far better than the Chi.  Only the first two ingredients are the same but Chi has no oils in it whatsoever whereas Morracanoil does.  Hope that helps.  :)
